READING

The three little pig, The Little Match Girl, Jack and the Bean Stalk, The
Magic Porridge Pot, Pinocchio, Snow white and seven dwarfs
Good afternoon to our lecturer, Puan Azmah and my dear friends. I would like
to talk about Reading. I have a habit of reading books. When I was a little girl,
my parents used to read thousands of picture books to me. Their story time was
my favorite time of a day. In the stories, I met a lot of imaginary characters and
imaginative worlds. The tale of Cinderella told me that Have Courage and Be
Kind. As a child, I was happy being a tomboy. I knew that someday I would grow
up to be a woman, and I imagined myself with shining hair and a lady-shaped
figure. In that time, I believe a handsome prince would come near to me and
make all my troubles go away.
Learning is the eye of the mind. I would never have met such an imaginary
world if I had not read those books. Since then, I enjoy the hours of opening a
world of imagination. It is like food. The words soak into every parts of me. I get
hungry if I do not read a book. It is so amazing how much I can learn and know
just by reading books. Reading teach me different ways of thinking and improve
my mind. They also improve my vocabulary and the ways of writing. Imagine
reading a book that could make you laugh, cry, and learn all at once. Reading
can release stress and keep brain sharp. Ask yourself now. How many book have
you read? Did you even read at all?
There is no end to learning. Let's start opening books and experiencing the
real joy of the written world.
Thank you!
