synchronization function, such as the server at the National Time Center (IP Address:
210.72.145.44). If the unit is set up in a more customized network, NTP software
can be used to establish a NTP server used for time synchronization.

Routine Maintenance
This chapter introduces the items that should be tested during maintenance of
ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) and how to troubleshoot and solve the found problems.
Maintenance Test
Routine maintenance test to ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) is mainly to test the data
transmission and picture coding and decoding. These can be verified by logging on
from WEB browser.
Preventive Maintenance
Check if the running environment meets requirements, pay attention to the damp
proof, water proof, and dust proof of the chassis, and turn power of the device off
when power failure takes place.
Safety Protection
To ensure the stability of the system, ESD wrist must be worn when testing terminal
device or replacing parts. When the device is running normally, it is required to
connect the protective ground to the earth in the equipment room.
Packaging
The package of the ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) contains a packing list and each package
has shockproof plastic foam and damp-proof plastic bags.
Transportation
With proper package, the product should be covered with canvas against moisture
and rain. It should be stacked on the vehicle orderly, compactly, properly, safely and
reliably against damage caused by jolt.
Be sure not to transport the product together with other flammable, explosive and
corrosive materials and protect it from drench or any mechanical damage. Do not
place the equipment in the outdoor warehouse in the transport. During the
transportation, move and place the equipment slightly.
Storage
Storage temperature: -20C to +70C.
The product parts should be stored with the original preservative package.
The warehouse for storing the product should be moisture-proof, dust-proof, shock-
proof and corrosion-proof, and recommended to be equipped with air-conditioner and
illumination devices.
Troubleshooting
Welcome for purchasing our products. We will offer you the best service. When you
encounter any problem during using this product, please check and solve the
problem against FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) list below first. If problem is still
there, please contact our technical engineer by our telephone hotline or email.
Common detection methods:
1. Replacing: replace the power of ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) or HDD, etc.
2. Minimum load method: remove HDD, video/audio, alarm input/output, etc.
3. Upgrading: solve the problem of some external devices incompatible with the
ZXNVM S(N)9200(H).
Note:
Some software problem may be caused by improper operation. If you cannot
determine whether the problem is caused by improper operation, please perform the
Restore Factory Settings operation from the System Management menu.
FAQ
Starting/Self-test/Dead Halt Related
1. Why does ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) not start and run with power turned on?
i. Check if the power switch at the back of the device is turned on.
ii. Check if your starting operation is correct.
2. Why does the ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) start slowly?
It may be because the device checks HDD repeatedly due to HDD error.
3. Why ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) cannot be controlled by remote controller?
i. If the IR receiver indicator on the front panel is not on, please check if the
remote is installed with batteries or if it is damaged.
ii. Check if operation is locked by software in the device. If yes, please input the
user name and password to log in to the system.
Network Related
1. Why does the network transmission indicator (TX/RX) not blink after video data is
transmitted?
Check network connection, fasten network interface, and check if the device is
pingable with the ping command.
2. Why does network transmission indicator (TX/RX) not turn on?
Network failure, please check if the network connection status is normal.
3. Why does buzzer alarm occur?
IP address conflict or audio alarm is configured. Connect ZXNVM S(N)9200(H),
log in to WEB and change the IP address to cancel the audio alarm setting.
ii. For the problem of unable to fill the entire screen, please adjust it using the
zoom window and horizontal & vertical size adjustment function.
iii. For the problem of image offset to outside the display frame, please adjust
the up/down/left/right location of the monitor.
5. Why does color cast occur in using monitor?
i. Check if the plug wire between main board to VGA board is connected well
and if the VGA connecting wire is in good condition.
ii. Check if the heat dissipation is good.
After ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) starts, one channel is in black screen state and no
channel title is displayed. How to solve the problem?
Go to channel settings in the system management and check whether blocking
detection is enabled. If blocking detection is enabled, reset the channel to restore
the default setting, or directly restore factory settings.
6. Why is there mosaic on the screen when playing video on ZXNVM S(N)9200(H)?
i. Too low video parameter will degrade the quality of video playing, and even
mosaic appears sometimes.
ii. Bad sector of hard disk will also cause mosaic in video playback.
iii. The sensitivity of motion detection is set too low. Please increase the
sensitivity properly.
5. Why can video recording not be triggered by alarm?
i. The time range setting for recording triggered by alarm is incorrect. For more
than one time ranges, the former one must be earlier than the later one.
ii. No linked channel is selected for recording triggered by alarm. Please select
linked channel.
ii. Alarm trigger condition is not correct. Please check connected alarm input
and alarm trigger device is correct.
6. Why is the recorded video discontinuous?
i. If in manual record or timing record mode, please check if power cut or
abnormal voltage occurred during the process of recording.
ii. If in motion detection or trigger by alarm mode, please check if frequent
alarm occurred. Recording will be triggered every time when alarm occurs.
7. Why does serious mosaic occurs when playing video?
Check the hard disk for damaged sectors. If the hard disk is logically damaged,
partition and format the hard disk. If the hard disk is physically damaged,
replace the hard disk.
8. Why is it slow when playing video?
i. Check it is in slow playback mode. ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) supports slow
playback mode including 1/2, 1/4, etc.
ii. Check if the hard disk connecting wire is in good condition and if any sector is
damaged. If bad sector exists, dead lock or blurred screen may appear.
9. Why is there jitter in real-time video or video playback?
Set the format of ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) the same as the one of camera.
recommended that the address code of decoder is identical with the channel
number.
ii. Bus Connection: Connect the 485+ and 485- of one decoder to those of
RS485 of ZXNVM S(N)9200(H) respectively, connect another one to the 485+
and 485- of the last decoder. If the state beyond control occurs at times,
please check the instruction of PTZ.
3. Why does false alarm occur when motion detection recording and alarm triggered
recording are enabled?
Check and adjust the sensitivity of motion detection, as motion detection is to
detect the light intensity and change of light will trigger motion detection alarm.
4. Why can PTZ not be controlled?
i. Check if the 485 control cable of PTZ is connected to the device correctly,
and pay attention to positive and negative (485+, 485-)
ii. Check if the control protocol and baud rate of PTZ match with those set in
ZXNVM S(N)9200(H).
iii. Check if address code and that set in channel parameter of ZXNVM
S(N)9200(H) is the same (if uncontrollable, adjust the address one number
forward or backward and then test it).
Note: Since there are many common protocols, please be patient in testing
to see if your protocol of PTZ or dome camera can work with ours.
