Introduction Summary
Feature Description:
FDD-TDD downlink carrier aggregation (CA) for two component carriers (2CC):
FDD acts as primary carrier (PCell), one TDD cell can be added as secondary carrier
(SCell). FDD cells and TDD cells are hosted by different logical, co-located eNBs.
Benefit for the Customer:
FDD-TDD downlink carrier aggregation 2CC provides efficient spectrum usage and
resource utilization between one FDD and one TDD carrier, by aggregating FDD and
TDD spectrum in downlink for eligible CA UEs.
Besides more flexible spectrum usage including certain dynamic load balancing
effects, feature will provide higher peak throughput rates in FDD-TDD aggregated
cells, when compared to the same cells in non-CA configuration. The highest gains
will be observed in cells which are not fully loaded.
The purpose of this document is to describe the detailed scope and commercial
conditions of this Nokia Networks proposal answering to the Bhartis requirements.
Additional Information
The following Flexi System module HW restrictions apply:
FDD: FSMF (FSMr3) only
TDD: FSMF (FSMr3) or FSIH

Both eNBs in the cluster must have aligned FDD and TDD SW build versions and
parameter sets which are consistent with each other, else the inter-eNB CA
functionality might be disabled. In such a case, intra-eNB CA (FDD- or TDD-only DL
CA) can still be functional. For a complete overview of 3GPP restrictions on CA band
and bandwidth combinations, please refer to TS 36.101.

Counter name Measurement Description
Counter ID
M8001C494 Average number of LTE Cell Load This counter
DL carrier provides the
aggregated average number of
capable UEs for 2 DL CA-capable UEs
CCs in the current cell.
The counter is
updated in the
PCell. The reported
value is 100 times
higher than the
actual value (for
example, 1.00 is
stored as 100).
M8001C495 Average number of LTE Cell Load This counter
UEs with a provides the
configured SCell average number of
UEs in the current
cell, which have a
configured SCell.
The reported value
is 100 times higher
than the actual
value (for example
1.00 is stored as
100).
M8001C496 Average number of LTE Cell Load This counter
UEs with an provides the
activated SCell average number of
UEs in the current
cell, which have an
activated SCell.
The reported value

than the actual
value (for example
1.00 is stored as
100).
M8012C25 PDCP Throughput LTE Cell The measurement
DL Max Throughput gives indication of
