- Jerry studied the teachings of Jacques Lecoq while in school and has
background in adapting and directing classics for the contemporary
stage as well as incorporating multimedia (i.e. projections, film) and
non-mainstream performance styles (i.e. puppetry) into his productions.
Fun fact: Jerry directed the 1998 production of Sartre's No Exit which
played at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge...the
production with the tilting stage we saw in Intro to Theatre Design.
- Jerry will be adapting a production of Medea this year with the
same design concept!!!

- Currently no shows are playing, but their resident company recently
performed productions of Sam Shepherd's Savage/Love as well as an
adaptation of a popular Japanese play Lady Aoi (they have a history of
adapting Japanese works...)
- They put on 2-3 productions per year that run approximately one month
each (typically 2 spring and 1 in the fall or early winter)
Rehearsals usually last a month

- Imago Theatre is a flexible performance space, primarily used in a
proscenium setting, with pliable (older) wooden floors. The theater seats
approximately 220 and the playing area is approximately 45-feet wide by
40-feet deep. Also available to rent!
No dressing rooms, but backstage area more than adequate for such needs
- Tickets for their resident company shows are purchased on a show-by-show
basis either in person, over the phone, or through a third-party ticketing
website. Ticket prices are approximately $15-25 or "pay what you can"

- Kid/family show day full of workshops, etc. for underprivileged Portland
area youth
- Trips to local schools to perform Imago works
- Mask workshops for youth
- Youth mentorship program (18-29 years old) to integrate young performers
into Imago shows and demystify their process

- Private/anonymous donations online or by mail, sponsorship with tiered
incentives/rewards, private citizen trusts/funds, and state grants make up the
bulk of their funding as ticket prices are so low
Final Thoughts/Critique
- "They defy classification" ...like me!
- I hate their website design and social media presence is negligible
