I. INTRODUCTION

Reading is the best source of learning, when we read, we use our eyes

to receive written symbols, letters, punctuation marks and spaces and we

use our brain to convert them into words, sentences and paragraphs that

communicate something to us.

When we know how to comprehend we easily umderstand the

message of what we have read. Reading comprehension is when a

person reads a text he engages in a complex array of cognitive processes.

He is simultaneously using his awareness and understanding, also the

learners ability to comprehend or construct meaning from the text.

The purpose of reading is to search for simple information, to learn

from texts that remember main ideas and details of the main and

supporting ideas in the text and also recognize it. to integrate information

that requires abilities to compose, select and critique information from a

text and also learn the processes in fluent reading comprehension.

Why Reading is So Important? Everyone knows that reading is

important Through reading, you expose yourself to new things, new

information, new ways to solve a problem, and new ways to achieve one

thing.

Reading does help you form a better you, doesnt it? Through reading,

you begin understand the world more. Through reading, you begin to have

a greater understanding on a topic that interest you. The more you read,

the more you understand one thing: the A to Z of a thing. Let me give an

example here: reading allows you learn more about crocodiles and their

habits. That you need to be aware of places it usually lurks for, the

purpose of staying away from being harmed or bitten. Or perhaps you can

try by real life experience, in approaching the crocodile, to see what

happen. It can also help you find out the truth of something, right?

Reading also increases the understanding of the rules of life, in order for

you to adapt, adopt and accommodate into the society better. To play well

in a game, you first need to understand the rules well.
