In this painting unit I learned Perspective Flower Pages 67
how to control acrylic and Landscape paintings (and back)
watercolour paints to add to Realistic and 68
realistic motifs and deepen my Painting (Practice
painting by adding depth. I drawing
furthered my understanding of and
perspective as well as painting
foreground, middle ground, and flowers,

landscape painting. I learned to Georgia

watercolour flower projects as
well as general watercolour
techniques such as wet on wet,
sgraffito, and dry brush. Culture
and history didn't play into my
work directly, but art history was
very present in brainstorming for
pieces and research. For
example, for the flower paintings
we studied Georgia O'Keeffe,
who I was already interested in.
Now I am working on a project
outside of class that features her
work and letters as well as
planning a trip to New Mexico! In
this way, I think that I have been
motivated for future work by
studying artists in class.

evolved my style by learning

two big projects.

Painting flowers requires a keen
and detailed eye to pick up on
everything in its surroundings. I
think that that is very valuable
and I can use that in so many
things outside of art. I also think
that color theory can help in
endeavors outside of visual art
such as creating spaces with
interior design, gardening,
fashion design, etc.
