Impeller

methodforthesemiopen3dimensionalimpelleriseasilyadoptedtomeetindividualplantrequirements.The
impellerdesignisbasedonahugedatabasecomprisingfullfactorytestsofmorethan7,000compressorsas
wellasdedicatedfullscaletestsandfiniteelementanalyses.

Variable diffuser system

Thevariablediffusersystemcontrolstheflowbyadjustingtheangleandconsequentlythenozzleareaof17to
21diffuservanes.Thevanesareflowoptimizednonsymmetricalairfoils,allowingadjustingthenozzlearea
andstillmaintaininganexcellentefficiencywithinthewholeoperationrangeofthecompressor.Thevanesare
arrangedradiallyaroundtheimpeller.

Inlet guide vane system

Theinletguidevanesystem(IGV)controlstheincidenceangleoftheinletflowtotheimpellerandthus
influencestherelativespeedoftheair.Thisallowsthepossibilitytoadjustthedeliveredheadfromthe
compressorandoptimizethepowerconsumptionaccordingtochangesinoperationalparameterssuchas
inlettemperature,outletpressureetc.

Mechanical design
TheSTCGOseriesaresinglestagecompressorswithintegratedgearboxes.Compressorandgearboxare
standardfullyintegratedwithverticalsplitandthepinionshaftabovethedriveshaft.Thedesigniscompact
andeasytomaintain.Allgearwheelsarecustomizedaccordingtocompressorconfiguration.

GL-gear type series

Thegearsarehelicalcutfromhighgradesteelalloy,casehardenedandgrindedtoclosetolerances.The
bearingsarehydrodynamicmultipadbearingswithforcedoillubrication.Thedesignedbearinglifetimeis
100,000operationalhours.Thedesignensureseasyaccesstovibrationandtemperatureprobes,whichcan
bedeliveredoptionally.Theairandoilsealsarenoncontactlabyrinthtype.Gearsandbearingsarepressure
lubricatedbyelectricallyandmechanicallydrivenpumps.TheGLgearboxesallowsforhigherflowandhigher
pressurewithintherangeofSTCGOcompressorsandextendthemaintenanceintervals.
Thisdesignismainlyusedforelectricmotordrivenapplicationsatanyoperationalcondition.

GK-gear type series

Aerationrequirementsinsmallerdecentralizedwastewatertreatmentplantsareoftenassociatedwithspecial
needswithregardtocompressordesignandperformance.Idealforsmallerscaleplants,theGKseries
featuresaparticularlycompactdesign.withintegratedgearboxfeaturingballbearings,lubricatedbyan
integratedoilpump.

Special gear types GC and GB

ThespecialGCtypeisaplanetarytwostagecoaxialgearboxforapplicationswithdieselorgasengine
drivers,forinstancewithmethanerecoveryprocesses.Thistypeofgearboxisdesignedfortheincreased
torsionalforcesoriginatingfromthedriver.TheGBtypeisatwostepgearboxspeciallysuitedforhigh
pressure.
