You feel like youre juggling so many things that youre constantly worried that
youre going to drop something?
You see, the thing with our minds is that were only able to focus on one, two, three,
four things. After that our brain crashes. We cant think of everything else because
these four things have basically constipated our minds.
Thats where the Brain Dump comes in -- where we get rid of everything thats in our
minds and flush it out onto paper.
The following activity is called a Brain Dump, that ultimately leads to a Brain Breeze.
At the end of this section, Im going to give you some prompts so that you can take
whats in your mind and put it all down on paper. Prompt after prompt, youre going
to find more and more things that were hiding down in the dusty corners of our
minds will come out so you can see it on paper.
Then in Part 2, Im going to show you what to do once youve gotten things out of
your mind.
To explain what Im talking about when I say brain constipation, I want to give you
this analogy:
This one time, I didnt throw out the garbage for over two weeks. It was sitting out
three weeks
in the sun for when I finally said, Well now I have to take action. Its
been so long now, the garbage must really stink.
I went out to the garbage and I had to deal with this trash that had been piling up
and sweltering in the heat for three weeks.
I lifted up the the lid of the trash bin, looked inside and I said, Subhanallah! How did so
many maggots and bugs get created from inside that trash bin?! It was so nasty! it was
so gross! I didnt want to smell it so I just threw it down there before some crocodile
comes jumping out at me!
I wished I could just throw away the whole trash bin along with the trash. But how
do you throw out a trash bin? You cant. Theyre just going to take the trash and
give you back the bin.
You see, youve gotta dump the trash out. Thats what I did. I dumped the trash out.
Now once the trash gets dumped out, is the trash bin clean?
The answer is no, its still dirty. Its still got maggots and this slimy goo around the
side.
Because there are so many things clogging it up, that it becomes like a big pile of
trash thats really icky to deal with. You cant do what you really want to do because
youre dealing with this huge mess.
Youve got all these things on your plate and you need to get it off of your mind.
Have you ever met people who, when youre talking to them, they seem like theyre
in Mars? Their brain is just somewhere else and while youre talking to them,
theyre staring off to the side? They start checking their phone and theyre like Oh
yeah you were saying something?.
People go through life like that. I dont want you to be like that.
The way to not be like that is to dump everything off your mind and clear it out.
When I first did this activity, it was so liberating. I dumped everything out of my
head. Just dumped it and dumped it and by the end of it, I had 16 pagesworth of
just stuff. Just stuff floating around in my head.
Now after I had dumped it out, I just stepped back and I felt this breeze go from ear
to ear. No, that doesnt mean I dont have a brain. I felt this breeze like, Wow, I
feel liberated from all this stuff in my mind!
The number one excuse people have is: I dont have time.
In BringIt! were doing this activity from the beginning so that you can get a whole
list of things that need your action and attention. So in the 4-Day BringIt! Challenge,
you can take action on the things youre going to be dumping.
Then later on, in each day of the 4-Day BringIt! Challenge, when we do the
visualization, I also want you to take action on your dreams and the places you want
to go, visualizing the future so you can take action on it in this 4-Day BringIt!
Challenge.
And in sha Allah, tomorrow, youll be getting an email with Part 2 of this series.
