Debriefing Question #6 | think that revolution is justified when somebody either doesn’t like the government that they are forced to follow or they want freedom from something. Like for instance, the ‘American Revolution started because the colonies didn’t like the way Britain was taxing them and putting harsh Acts on them so they wanted independence from Britain. They also didn’t like that monarchy still existed and the monarch was a tyrant (King George III). Another Revolution that started was the French Revolution. They didn’t like monarchy existing in their country either. So the overall definition of Revolution is a war created when a country doesn’t like the government they are in or they want freedom from a king, taxes, etc. If we were really mad, mad enough to start a revolution, the government would have to go way too far on either taxing us or creating too many Acts because | don’t think we could just randomly create a revolution be se the government did one thing that we didn’t like. Some people might have liked that choice because it is all up to opinions, but I'm pretty sure no one likes taxes or harsh Acts so that would be acceptable if someone was upset about that. So if that happened we could gather a lot of people to join thatrevolution, but it would be pointless if it was just off of one little decision that a couple people didn’t like. : . Lastly if you wanted to overthrow a government because you didn’t like what they were doing to the colonies | would understand that, but just because they are 2 different political party | don’t think so. | would never think this would be a good idea because you don’t realize how much power the president has. It would be a really hard thing to accomplish because | don’t think you could gather that many people to go with you and also because it would be a VERY hard task. So | do not agree that it is permissible to replace that government.
