INTRODUCTION
PURPOSE
This guide explains the upgrade procedure for the MP program of the NEAX 2000 IPS and the Retrofit
System (PBX), for maintenance personnel.

OUTLINE OF THIS MANUAL


This guide consists of two chapters. The contents of Chapters 1 and 2 are outlined below.

This chapter explains the outline of the upgrade operation and the required equipment.

PRECAUTIONS

PRECAUTIONS
When performing the upgrade operations, pay attention to the following.

1. Be sure to perform the upgrade after setting the PBX in off line mode. To set in off line mode, set the
SW3 to 5-8 and press the SW1 on the MP card.
See UPGRADE PROCEDURE STEP8.
2. The upgrade cannot be performed with the MAT in remote location.
3. Do not reset the PBX and MAT while executing upgrade.
4. Do not exit from MP Program Download Add-In while executing upgrade.
5. Do not pull out the MAT cable while executing upgrade.
6. When an error occurs while executing upgrade, exit the MATWorX and restart the MAT.
7. When the communication settings have been established between the PBX and the MAT in starting
up the MP Program Download Add-In, disconnect them once, before executing upgrade.
8. For system conditions of the MATWorX, refer to the MATWorX Installation Guide.

UPGRADE PROCEDURE
To upgrade the MP program, do the following steps:

STEP1: Connect the MAT and the PBX using MAT cable.
For how to connect the MAT and the PBX, refer to MATWorX Installation Guide or MAT-
WorX User Guide.

STEP2: Launch the MATWorX program. For how to launch the MATWorX program, refer to MAT-
WorX Installation Guide or MATWorX User Guide.

NOTE: When the communication settings have been established between the PBX and the MAT in start-
ing up the MP Program Download Add-In, disconnect them once, before executing upgrade.

STEP3: Select Upgrade/MP Program Download from the MATWorX taskbar.

The MP Program Download dialog is displayed.

STEP4: Place the CD in the CD-ROM drive.

STEP5: Specify the CD-ROM drive and the folder where the program download files are.

STEP6: The list of files that can be downloaded to the PBX is displayed as shown below.
The information of the download file can be displayed by clicking the file name.
All files are selected in default setting. When changing the default setting, remove the check
from the checkbox of the unnecessary file.

STEP7: Confirm the communication settings between the PBX and the MAT on MP Program Down-
load dialog.
When changing the communication settings, select Option/Port Setting from the MP Pro-
gram Download dialog. The Set up a connection port dialog is displayed.

Default setting;
Connection port: COM 1
Communication speed: 57,600 (SENS=8)

When changing the default setting, select the changing item and click OK button.

NOTE: You must not set the communication speed to 115,200 bps.

STEP8: Set the SW3 on the MP card corresponding to the communication speed selected in STEP7 (see
the table below) and press the SW1.
The RUN lamp on the MP card flashes slowly.

STEP9: Click button. Then, the following dialog is displayed.


Confirm the communication settings again.

STEP10: To download the upgrade program, click Yes button and wait until the following progress bar
goes to 100%.
The RUN lamp on the MP card flashes rapidly while downloading.

NOTE 1: You must not exit the MP Program Download Add-In while downloading.
NOTE 2: It takes 10-20 minutes to download the files to the PBX.
NOTE 3: When an error occurs while downloading, exit the MATWorX and restart the MAT.

STEP11: When the files of CD-ROM have been downloaded to the PBX, the following dialog is dis-
played.
Click OK button and pull out the CD from CD-ROM drive.

STEP12: To finish the MP Program Download Add-In, click Exit Dialog button in the upper right
corner of the MP Program Download dialog.

STEP13: When upgrading the software of system from Series 3200 R6.1 or before to 3200 R6.2 or later
the office data conversion by CM00>90 is required. The operation is as follows.
- Set the SW3 on the MP card to 2 (Off Line).
- To display MOC window, select Function/MOC from the MATWorX taskbar.
- On the MOC window, do the following command operation.
F9 + 00 + F8 + 90 + F8 + 0 (Now converting) + F2

NOTE 1: The office data that has been converted and the office data in Series 3200 R6.2 software or later
do not have compatibility with the software of Series 3200 R6.1 or before.
NOTE 2: When first data 90 is entered, second data 1 is displayed. Also while converting the office
data, 1 is displayed.

STEP14: Set the SW3 on the MP card to 0 (On Line).

You have successfully upgraded the MP program.
