engine conversion SB1214).
PT6A-28 Engines which are before and include Serial No. PCE-52636 excluding
PCE-52506 and all engines converted to Engine Model PT6A-28 (Ref. P&WC engine
conversion SB1120).
PT6A-34 Engines which are before and include Serial No. PCE-56917 and Serial No.
PCE-57001 thru PCE-57521 and all engines converted to Engine Model PT6A-34
(Ref. P&WC engine conversion SB1499).
PT6A-34AG Engines which are before and include Serial No. PCE-56924 and Serial No.
PCE-57001 thru PCE-57528 and all engines converted to Engine Model PT6A-34AG
(Ref. P&WC engine conversion SB1252).
PT6A-34B Engines.
PT6A-36 Engines which are before and include Serial No. PCE-38030 and all engines
converted to Engine Model PT6A-36 (Ref. P&WC engine conversion SB1405).

C. Reason

To improve durability of compressor turbine blades by increasing fatigue life and to give
the customer an optional blade.
D. Description

The compressor turbine blades are replaced with similar blades featuring glass bead
peening in the fir-tree blade root area. The material of the new blade is changed to Inconel
100.
E. Compliance

For PT6A-28, PT6A-34, PT6A-34AG, and PT6A-36 Engine Models:

CATEGORY 6 - P&WC recommends to do this service bulletin when the subassembly
(i.e. module, accessories, components, or build groups) is disassembled
and access is available to the necessary part. Do all spare
subassemblies.

For PT6A-21, PT6A-25, PT6A-25A, PT6A-27, and PT6A-34B Engine Models:

CATEGORY 7 - You can do this service bulletin when the supply of superseded parts
is fully used.

with the applicable maintenance or overhaul manual instructions:

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE REMAINING ELECTROLYTE (ETCH SOLUTION) IS

FULLY NEUTRAL AFTER YOU WRITE ON THE PART. ELECTROLYTE CAN
CAUSE CORROSION ON THE PART.
C. Put a line across the old part number. Use the electrolyte etch procedure, 0.002 in. (0.05
mm) deep maximum, and write the new part number in the same area.

D. Write accomplishment of P&WC S.B. No. 1346 in the applicable engine module log
book.
