THE INFLUENCE OF COMPENSATION AND MOTIVATION ON EMPLOYEE


PERFORMANCE AT SMA NEGERI 71 JAKARTA

This study aims to determine the influence of compensation and motivation on employee
performance at SMA Negeri 71 Jakarta.
The data used primary data obtained from dissemination of the questionnaire to the 74
employees of SMA Negeri 71 Jakarta. The samples were taken by using total sampling
technique where the entire of population used as a sample. The data analyzed using multiple
regression analysis and processed by SPSS application.
The result of the study showed that compensation affected employee performance of SMA
Negeri 71 Jakarta, it could be seen from the t value of compensation variable (X1) (5,423) > t
table (1,1994 ) and the significant value lower than probability value 0,000 < 0,05. The result
of coefficient determination showed that compensation variable and motivation variable give
influence 0,449 or 44,9% to the employee performance and the residual of 55,1% is
influenced by other variables. F test 28,932 indicated that compensation and motivation
affected simultaneously to the performance variable.

Conclusion

1. Compensation variable is affected employee performance of SMA N 71 Jakarta,


attested from t value that higher than t table (5,432 > 1,994) and significant value that
lower than probability value (0,000 < 0,05).

2. Motivation variable didnt affected employee performance of SMA N 71 Jakarta,


attested from t value that lower than t table (1,892 < 1,994) and significant value that
higher than probability value (0,063 > 0,05) .

3. Compensation and motivation variable simultaneously affected employee


performance of SMA N 71 Jakarta. Attested from f value that higher than f table.
(28,932) > 3,13).
