Mashitoh : Guys, the choral speaking competition is next week!
ALL : Oh My God, what are we going to talk about?
Nusratina : Lets talk about food! Mmmmm yummy!
Izram : Lets talk about ghosts! Uuuuu very scary!
Farhana : No, lets talk about something we all have in common!
ALL : What, our parents nagging?!
Farhana : No, Im talking about music!
LEFT : Music?!
RIGHT : Music?!
ALL : Oooh~ Music! Even the word is music to our ears!

ALL : A very good morning to the honorable judges, teachers and

all my fellow friends. Today, whether you want to hear
it or not, were going to tell you all about music!
So, sit back and relax!
But dont fall asleep.
And.. Enjoy the show!
Farhana : As teens, music plays a huge part in our everyday lives!
Masyitoh : I agree with you. I bet most of us cant live without music!
ALL : We all have iPods, MP3s and even our handphones have
music!
All around us theres music on the radio, television and
even our surroundings!
ROW 1 : The ticking of the clock.
ROW 2 & 3 : Tick tock, tick tock!
ROW 1 : The chirping of the birds.
ROW 2 & 3 : Chirp chirp, chirp chirp!
ALL : Everything has its own natural rhythm and beats that form
its own music!
Now, let us bring you back in time!
To see how music has evolved!

ALL : In the seventies, pop dominated the airwaves!

Amani : Can you imagine?
ALL : Our grandparent grooved to Stevie Wonder and the
Beatles.
Nusratina : Who are they?
ALL : We dont have any clue!
Akmal : Guys, come and listen!
ALL : I wanna hold your hand (3x)
ROW 3 : Oooh that song I have heard before!
ALL : Pop music actually came from the word popular music
like jazz, rock, soul and r&b. Michael Jackson, Madonna
and Prince are among popular artist singing pop music.

ALL : Then, in the eighties a new genre of music was born.

 Disco, babeh!
Akmal : Guys, come and listen!
ALL : Im ready for dancing,
Im ready to dance!
Syahila : The disco sound is so unique, it defies description!
ALL : It draws on many influences like jazz, Latin and pop.
It mostly consists of dance beats that makes you want
to~~
Bust a move!
And break out your groove!
With disco music came the fashion
BOYS : Bell bottoms.
GIRL : Puffy hair and poodle skirts!
ALL : And even six inch platforms!

ALL : Arent we glad, were in the 21st century?

ALL : In the nineties, rock music came to whole new level!

ALL : 21st century music begins like pop, techno, rap, rock, r&b,
soul, metal and hiphop. You name it!
Alia : Even foreign music like Jrock and Kpop!
Mashitoh : Guys, do you want to listen to Kpop song?
ALL : Yes!!
Mashitoh : I want nobody, nobody but you!

ALL : With so many genres of music, no wonder life is so
symphony!

Farhana : Hearing your favorite song on the radio can turn your day
360 degrees!
Aliff Heykal : Its the most effective medium that teens use to break out
of their funk!
ALL : There is just so much meaning behind music nowadays!
Music can also tell an artists life story, things they have
been through, and even their opinion on certain views.
Farhana : Do you want to hear a song about love and friendship?
ALL : Yes!!
ALL : Oooo~~ Oooo~~ Oooo~~

Just shout whenever, and Ill be there,

And we will never, ever, ever be apart.
ALL : From London to Malaysia, Indonesia to Korea, music is
abundant and constant.
Mashitoh : Through the mass media, music from all walks of life are
heard and enjoyed.

ALL : We all need music in our lives. The steady beat of music
calms the mind, heart and soul.
 Young or old, white or black, Malay or Chinese, everyone is
united by this freedom of self-expression.
Nusratina : No one can get bored or tired of music because it is ever
changing.

ALL : In short, life without music would be.

Farhana : Boring
Ismaszatul : Dull
Huali : Lonely!

ALL : So, we need music to cheer up our life!
