I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Joey Potvin, a student in my Allied Health
Careers Class. He recently approached me about pursuing a post-secondary education in the
fields of Nursing and Neuroscience, as he is a firm believer that learning is a lifelong process.

I have known Joey since late September of 2015, as a result of our affiliation with the
Cambridge Rescue Squad. I was working as an Emergency Medical Responder and he was
and is an active member of the Cambridge Cadet Squad. His role has changed this year as he
finds himself the now the leader of the Cadets.

As his instructor in Allied Health I have watched Joey grow and flourish. Joey has been able to
successfully complete Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers and First Aid certifications
through the American Heart Association. He continues to strive toward completing his Licensed
Nursing Assistant training along with her Personal Care Attendant and Emergency Responder
courses. He is also taking Medical Terminology and Human Biology for college credit during the
spring semester through a dual enrollment program we have with the Community College of
Vermont. In the spring, I hope to nominate Joey as a potential member of our National Technical
Honor Society for his outstanding academic achievements, leadership skills, and citizenship.

Joey has shared his long term career goals with me and has decided to pursue a double major
in nursing and neuroscience. He plans on participating in the early college program next year
offered through the Community College of Vermont. Joey is a highly organized and responsible
young man who is able to plan for his future, set goals and work towards them with strength and
independence. I can say without hesitation, that Joey has the drive, ambition, and the
knowledge to be successful as in the early college program. Please consider Joey as a highly
