Mary Mendoza

Mary Beatrice Mendoza is my name. Born and raised in San Pedro, Laguna, Philippines. On July

8, 2010, my brother, dad, and I moved to Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Arlene and Graciano

Mendoza are my two wonderful parents and Gabriel Mendoza is my amazing brother. I am

currently attending Notre Dame Ecole High School, as a grade eleven student.

Growing up, I was taught to do whatever it takes to achieve my ambition. Through that, I believe

that my strengths are pursuing any goals I have with full determination, hardwork, and passion.

Working with people yet being able to focus on my own work space area is what I love.

Enthusiasm is a significant part of my life, whether it is in school, home, sports or work

environment. As of my education, I am passionate with my academic. Before my family and I

moved to Canada, I went to a private catholic school, kindergarten to grade three and was

homeschooled for grade four to five.In elementary, I participated in spelling bees and was

rewarded in third place. Sports had an important part of my elementary days. I was in dance,

basketball, volleyball, soccer and badminton. In 2010, when we moved to Canada, I was suppose

to be in grade five, however, I was upgraded to grade six and attended Saint, Francis of Assisi

Middle School for four years. Grade six to grade 9, I achieved an overall GPA of 80% every

term and received honor rolls award. I was involved in sports such as basketball, and badminton.

Through all my elementary and middle school experiences, I learned how to communicate in

different people and gained knowledge of how I am with several communities whether if it was

in school, or any sports. In grade nine, I believe I matured more and became more understanding

and considerate. For instance, when it comes to my family and friends, if they have a certain
problem, I am willing to just be there for them, whether if its by listening to them or give advice

with their specific problem. Travelling and seeing what the world has to offer was and still is a

big part of my life. When I was 7 years old, my mom left our family for a job in Canada so it was

just my dad, brother and I travelling different Islands and resorts in Philippines. Ever since, until

now that I am in highschool, Ive been passionate with travelling. My family and I explored

Cancun, Mexico. Almost every summer, we go camping and road trips all over Canada. I was

able to acknowledge variety of people who speak other languages. I believe that it is a beautiful

talent to understand and talk other languages. Tagalog is another language I can understand and

speak. Ive experience how many people communicate with each other, teamwork and

understanding others by listening to them. I believe that through all my travel, education and

awards, I am able to connect skills such as, communication, paying attention, listening and

adaptable, into a work environment. With religion beliefs, I am passionate about being Catholic.

I believe that through God, I am able to success with anything I am going through. I believe in

many blessings such as my family, and friends that God gave me and I am more than grateful.

One of the biggest success that Ive accomplished in my life, with the grace of God is that I was

able to afford certain things like driving lesson, car, and a laptop, for myself without the help of

my parents because I dont like asking my parents for expensive materials. As of conclusion,

Ive learned and experienced many unforgettable adventures and lessons with many amazing

people, yet there are still more great things to come. Love the life you live and live the life you

love. quote by Bob Marley is something I always remember day by day because I do believe

that in order to find happiness throughout life, you need love.

Few years from now, one of my significant ambition is to be incredibly content and find

happiness with whatever situation I am in life. I aspire to reach this goal by pursuing anything I

love such as surround myself with a healthy environment and spending the most of my time with

amazing family and friends. This could be by simply doing simple things like making them

breakfast. telling them how much they mean to me or giving them advice when theyre in need.

As for my future education, I aim to finish high school with a grade in all of my classes above

80%. I am planning to go towards the field of behavioral sciences in university. Red deer college

or Ambrose university in Calgary are the two colleges Im planning to attend. These goals match

my skills and personality because I find it interesting working with people, talking about their

emotions and problem. I also love helping individuals with their problems and simply being

there for them listening and understanding. For travel plans, I aim to earn enough savings in

order to see cities such as London, Los Angeles, Paris, Amsterdam and many more because I

love experiencing new circumstances with different people. To create memories with people and

places that I love is my biggest priority.

As a conclusion, I am 17 year old teenager living in Red deer with my amazing parents and

brother with an ambition of being independent. I dream of becoming a behavioral psychologist

with children all ages. To help out individuals with their personal problems through

communication and listening . Ever since I was little, I aspire to make everyone surrounding me

happy by travelling, sports and family. Therefor, to pursue pure happiness is my biggest goal, in

life.
