NOTE:
The MTBF for some components could not be calculated as these components had only one failure recorded.
The failure rate for the Weibull distribution is not constant. Therefore, there is no failure rate for the latter.

1.1 BLOCK DIAGRAM
Using the FTA designed, the block diagram was drawn so as to calculate the overall
reliability of the system.
The block diagram was constructed using only the components for which the reliability
functions are available.
The reliability was calculated for a period of 1 week as the reliability of the components
are highest during that time.

The maintenance strategy being designed is set for an operational life of three years.
Every unexpected failure that occurs is assumed to occur during the
operational/production time. This assumption is based on the fact that the probability
of failure during the intercrop season is low. Therefore, failures are more likely to occur
during the crop season and will cause production losses. It should be noted that the only
possibility of failure during the intercrop season occurs due to improper maintenance
or during maintenance runs.

3 Appendix 2
APPENDIX 2 consists of probability plot tests for each component. The graphs in this
appendix were used to determine which distribution best fits each data. This appendix also
includes the parameters that fits the data for the chosen distribution
