 Zeppelins
Zeppelins were large balloons filled with
deadly gas. The Germans used zeppelins
to bomb the East coast. This
revolutionized warfare because just like
poison gas, it made it easier to attack
more victims at once. It also gave the
Germans an advantage because they
were coming from above and even if the
enemy tried to shoot the zeppelin out of
the sky, the gas would still come out.
U- Boats
U-Boats are now known as submarines.
German started the idea of submarines. U-
Boats swarmed the Atlantic and caused
much damage. They would sink merchant
ships that held supplies going to Britain.
this revolutionized warfare because it was a
smart way to attack their enemies. They
were able to stop the other boats before
their enemy was able to react and stop
them.
Poisonous Gas
Poisonous gas was used to blind and
choke its victims. The gas caused painful
blisters and burns. The blisters were so
bad that it would completely split the skin
of the enemy. German used this method as
well. This revolutionized warfare by making
it possible to either kill the victims or
wound they very badly.
Automatic Machine Guns
Automatic machine guns were mounted
gun that fired a continuous bullets. It
created a stalemate because it was

impossible to advance across land. This Airplanes at this time would seat up to one to

Conveys
Conveys were groups of merchant ships being
protected by warships. This helped the Allies
protect the merchant ships from the Germans
and made it easier to locate the submarines.
The conveys were set up by the Allies.
Because of Germanys submarines, this is
what brings the US into the war.
