DESCRIPTION OF THE CLASS:
OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
1. Recognize nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs.
2. Form new word categories by adding suffixes to them.
3. Use word families in everyday speech.
ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS
- with students: students who do not have enough grammar knowledge may find it
hard to distinguish the words in a certain word family.
- with tasks: some tasks may not be challenging enough for stronger students.
ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP
OBJECTIVE: to revise students knowledge about word families.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY: students solve individually exercise 3 on page 45, where
they have to complete each sentences with one of the words discussed at the beginning of the
lesson. They work individually. Teacher monitors the activity and helps where necessary.
Then, students discuss and correct the answers with the guidance of the teacher.
