BRIEF ABOUT SUBJECTS

Global Country Study Report (GCSR)

GCSR is two semesters project in the final year of MBA. A class of 60 students is allotted a country
in the beginning of the year. The students study the bilateral trade opportunities between
India/Gujarat and the country allotted. The project is prepared by a group of 6 students. So, at the
max 10 groups will be studying a specific industry of allotted country.

During the semester-III students prepare Macro study of the country with special reference to an
Industry of their choice. They study the impact of different macro environmental factors on the
growth and prospects of the industry by doing the STEEPLED analysis. They compare their analysis
with the same industry of Gujarat to get the clear idea about the possibility to establish bilateral
trade between Gujarat and the allotted Country. As a small portion, they also study any other state
of India (along with Gujarat) to identify the scope of the inter-state and synergistic trade
relations.During semester-IV students prepare a micro study of the product/service of the selected
industry and try to develop a business plan/model.

Comprehensive Project (CP)

In final year of MBA, each student prepares an Industry Defined/User Defined Project (IDP/UDP) to
resolve some industry/organization level issues. The reports are prepared on major domain of
management studies like Marketing/Finance/HR/IT management etc. Students follow a proper
pattern of Research Methodology and generally administer the Statistical Analysis (through the
statistical software) to process-out the data. At the end, they draw a findings and conclusion based
on the Objectives of the Project and Result of Analysis.

In CP, the students generally prepare the project individually or in group of maximum 2-3 students.

Practice School (PS)

In GTU MBA program, each subject's syllabus is divided in 5 modules. The first 4 modules contain
the theory and concepts which are taught to the students in class rooms by subject teacher, and in
5th module, the student has to carry out some practical work (in form of preparing Small
reports/case studies) through industry interaction which is termed as "Practice School".

The student prepares a combined project in two parts which comprise the practical study of
different subjects. So, the evaluation was done for each subject based on their single presentation.
