The company I work for is a medium-
size company located in Asan city,
Chungnam province. My company
develops and manufactures
components of LCD products such as
TV boards, inverters, LCD panels, etc.
We supply the parts to large companies
like Bulls, CS, or foreign companies.
Our company has had strong
confidence to fulfill our major accounts
with good quality parts, competitive
price, and punctual delivery for more
than 10 years.
Every year, the production of
components is increasing and so are
our sales profits. The number of
employees is nearly 170, and the
factories and offices are located in
several places in Korea and China. In
our headquarters here in Asan, we have
90 employees, and the turnover rate is
approximately 10 percent per year.
I am in charge of hiring and supervising
sales representatives as an assistant
manager. I encourage new and existing
sales representatives to have better
knowledge of our quality parts and
meet the sales target. I like my job and
company, and Im expecting to get
promoted to a general manger

5. 2008

My company was founded by two
engineers back in 2003 in Asan.
They were working for a large
electronics company together, and their
jobs were to develop electronic parts.
During the period of working, they
obtained several patents on LCD
products and decided to start their own
business. After getting some
investment from outside sources and
investing all their money, they
established a small company in Asan
with two more engineers.
The two founders did multiple-jobs
from developing parts and gaining
customers to managing the engineers.
For the first few years, they managed to
operate their company. Their ideas
were frequently rejected by their
potential associates, but they
persistently sought to find major
accounts with enthusiasm for their LCD
components.
Two years later, they became a major
supplier for two large companies,
which enabled them to keep their
business stable with more employees.
As LCDs had a huge popularity in 2008,
more companies made LCD products
such as LCD TVs and refrigerators with
LCD screens. This trend boosted the
sales of their components, and they
expanded their business. Theyve built
some factories both in Korea and China,
and their business has gotten better.
I believe they were capable engineers,
but also, were lucky in business.
