Whole Group Read The Loathsome Dragon Discussion/ Key Focus on main characters, beginning, Questions middle, and end Learning Activity 2: Fairytale Anchor Chart (10 min.) Brainstorm main ideas, characters, settings, and problems in fairytales, discuss commonly known fairytales/assess prior knowledge. If there is not a lot, write down ideas and finish the chart later after looking at more fairytales. Closure (2 min.) Wrap Up: Good authors include beginnings, middles, and endings in their stories. They need to use characters that do lots of actions and make sure that they have a problem in the story that the character is trying to solve. Were going to be focusing on fairytale stories over the next few days, and then you all are going to get to create your own fairytale! Sponge Activity Spelling corrections, busy books
