To whom it may concern:
Please accept this correspondence as a formal letter of recommendation in support of Olivia G.
Bowman’s scholarship application. I have known Olivia since she joined our Girl Scout Troop as,
a Daisy when she was in kindergarten. From my knowledge of her, | wholeheartedly express that
she is a deserving candidate who will serve as an exemplary scholarship winner.
irl Scout leader for thirteen years, | have enjoyed watching her grow from a quiet,
shy child to an outgoing, confident young adult. Her many contributions to our troop include
creativity, dedication, and dependability. She is a kind, thoughtful and strong young lady who
has the ability to persevere with a positive, cheerful attitude even when faced with several physical
obstacles. In the past year, Olivia earned the Gold Award, which is the highest accomplishment a
Girl Scout can achieve. To do so, she independently compiled an assortment of Bible verses in
English that correlated with particular emotions znd then translated them in to Spanish. Raising
enough money to have the Biblically-inspired collection printed, she had it put in to a very nice
booklet which she then distributed to troubled youth while she was on a mission trip to the
Dominican Republic. This bi-lingual manuscript is something that will help countless individuals
for years to come. The effort that she put forth to receive the Gold Award exemplifies her
exceptional work ethic, ingenuity, and determination. ‘These characteristics will enable her to
reach any goals she sets for herself.
Thave a great deal of respect and admiration for Olivia G. Bowman and am honored to be able to
recommend her for your scholarship program. Please let me know if you have any questions or if
you would like to speak with me personally about why Olivia should receive this award. I am
