On Chinese-English Translation and Circulation of Li Yus Works

Abstract Based on the study of Li Yus translated w orks from Chinese to English and their circultion
at home and abroadthis paper explores the reasons w hy Li Yu s w orks have been much more
translated abroad w hile much less in China from four aspects under the perspective of inner and external
research strategy w hich w as put forw ard by Wang Hong the original textthe translatorsocial ethics
and the readers It calls upon Chinese scholars to do more translation in this field
