and depended on his job to make ends meet. He lived paycheck to
paycheck. When the candy cane factory burned to the ground, his family
became homeless and had to live under a bridge. There was quite a bit of
evidence to suggest that Hateful Holly burned the candy cane factory down.

Suspect 2: Shopping Mall Santa Sam

Shopping Mall Santa Sam loved his job at the local Woolworths. He loved
making childrens dreams come true and was devastated at the thought that
Hateful Holly planned to tell all the children there was no Santa Clause.
Suspect 3: Wall Street Wally

Wall Street Wally made his money in the stock market. He invested all of
his savings in the market so that he could earn interest. When the stock
market crashed, he lost everything, even the money he planned to use to buy
presents for the orphans at the Childrens Orphanage. Hateful Holly started
the stock market crash when she burned down the factory. She caused the
GREAT DEPRESSION!

Conclusions

1. Did any of the suspect hair samples match the crime scene?
Yes.

2. If so, which samples matched?

Wall Street Wally's matches the one found at the microscope

3. Were you able to eliminate any suspects?

Suspect 2

4. Why is hair considered class evidence rather than individual evidence?

Yes it is class evidence because multiple people can have the same features in their hair
Step 3: Analyze the Fiber Evidence
Fiber evidence was collected at the crime scene from the towel. Analyze the fiber
evidence to see if you can eliminate any suspects.

Wall Street Wally's matched the one at the crime scene
15. Were you able to eliminate any suspects?
Not really, only because we aren't really good at identifying finger prints

16. Is fingerprint evidence considered class evidence or individual evidence?

Why?
Individual because everyone no one can have the same fingerprint

Step 5: Analyze the Blood Evidence

17. Observe the blood spatter in the crime scene photos. What can the blood
spatter tell you about this crime?
She was stabbed

the crime scene?
Yes

20. Can you eliminate any of the suspects by observing the blood spatter? Why
or why not? If you can, which ones can you eliminate?

Conclusions

21. Which DNA samples match? Who was the killer? Explain your answer.
Wall Street Wally is the Killer!!! His DNA was found at the crime scene

22. Does this evidence provide sufficient information for a conviction? Why
or why not?
Yes, because it is individual
23. Explain why it was necessary to run a sample of the victims own DNA.
So you have something to compare what was found at the crime scene

Final Analysis

24. Rank your evidence from the most reliable (1) to the least reliable (5) below:

1. DNA
2. Finger Print
3. Examining Fibers
Burning Fibers
4.
Hair
5.

25. Explain your rankings.

We chose these because DNA is the most reliable it can't really be planted and it is individual
evidence, Fingerprints was next mainly because we aren't really good at identifying the difference,
and it is still individual. Fibers and Hair we put next because they are all class evidence.

26. As a forensic scientist, your job is to provide the detectives and policemen
with a truthful analysis of the evidence found at the crime scene. Regarding
all of the evidence listed above, could you give a solid recommendation as to
the identity of the killer?
Yes

27. According to your recommendation, who is the killer?

Wall Street Wally
28. Are you confident enough in your recommendation to send someone to jail
for murder? Why or why not?
Yes, because the DNA the most important part pointed to him!
