To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to write to you on behalf of Lindsey Mann, who is applying for a position in
your district as an elementary teacher. Lindsey has just successfully completed a
yearlong intensive student teaching experience through the University of Utah Teacher
Licensure Program. Without question, Lindsey rose to the occasion, and became one of
the top student teachers in the cohort.

Last spring, I had the pleasure of getting to know Lindsey as a student in my reading
methods course. Throughout the semester, she was an extremely conscientious student
who consistently excelled on all course assignments and was an active participant in
class. During the course of this year, I have had the opportunity to observe Lindsey
utilize these same highly effective qualities and attributes to create a positive and
successful learning environment for the students in her 5 th grade class at Taylorsville
Elementary.

Throughout her student teaching experience, Lindsey consistently created and

implemented engaging lessons for her students. In addition, Lindsey was very reflective
on both her practice and the needs of her students, and subsequently adjusted her
instruction accordingly. Lindsey has a growth-mindset, and I fully expect her to be a
lifelong learner and continue to grow professionally throughout her career.

Without reservation, I would highly recommend Lindsey for an elementary teaching

position in your district. She certainly would be an asset to any faculty. If I can provide
additional information to support Lindseys application please feel free to contact me at
kerry.herman@utah.edu, or (801) 550-4469.

Sincerely,

Kerry Herman
