you move ahead! Move 4 spaces forward!

serving as an obstacle in your path! Move
back 5 spaces to get away from it!

Goddess of black bees incarnation of the
Goddess Durga! Hurry and move 10 spaces

has focused her powerful vision on you,
making you invincible to the next scenario
you land (whether positive or negative)!
PARDONED (NOT
PERMANENTLY)

Like Karna, you have been blessed by Surya

regenerating himself from every drop of his
blood that spilled, you have the ability to
revive the next time you are sent back to the
Start.
HOLY
COW!

You have been granted the wish of moving

forward into the game by the divine bovine
mother- Kamdhenu! Move five spaces

skip the next turn!

You have made the Shesha Naag twitch with

your constant irking, hence causing an
earthquake! All players move two spaces

appeared to destroy the enemy- thanks to
your prayers to Vishnu! You have the power
to bring one of your opponents (your

Bramhastra- the lethal weapon that has the
power to annihilate all living things! All
players go back to Start!

you lose against him! Go back 8 spaces!

Gods, Goddesses, Galore Divine Battles of the Past Beings Worshipped and Feared Powerful Weapons and Objects
Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth,
fortune, and prosperity, and
worshipping her will earn the
devotee her precious
blessing. The pot of gold coins
symbolises wealth.

Shiva is the god of destruction.

His other name Bhole Nath
means simple, given to him
because he is believed to easily
grant his devotees of their wishes.
This icon represents his third
eye, the eye of wisdom.

Saraswati is the goddess of

knowledge, wisdom, and the arts.
This icon includes a Veena, a
music instrument which is Saras-
watis symbol, and books which
represent knowledge.

Ganesh is god of new

beginnings, and an obstacle
remover. He has a body of a
human but a head of an
elephant, which is what the icon
displays.
Brahma is the god of creation.
The icon of the lotus symbolises
his birth, of how he was born
emerging from a lotus. He is also
always depicted sitting on a giant
lotus and holding one.

Bhramari is an incarnation of
goddess Durga, the goddess of
war. Bhramari is associated with
bees which cling to her body and
are sent to attack the demon,
crawling over his body and ripping
it apart.

Surya is the sun, god of light and

day. He travels across the sky in
his golden chariot pulled by seven
horses and Aruna (the personifi-
cation of dawn. The icon of the
sun represents him.

Kali is the goddess of time,

destruction, and power. She is the
destroyer of all evil forces. She is
always shown carrying a sword (as
shown in this icon) in her upper
left arm.
Although not blind herself, this wife of the
blind king always wore a blindfold. So when
Gandharis son was preparing for the
Mahabharata war, she poured all her power
in her preserved vision by removing her
blindfold, making his entire body as strong
as iron- except for his privates, which he
had covered with loins (his Achilles heel).

Karna was a character in the Mahabharata,

born to an upper-class unwed girl Kunti
(who later became the queen) and brought
up by lower-class charioteers. A son of
Surya Dev (the Sun God), he was born
wearing an armour (Kavacha) and earrings
(kundala), both attached to his body. This
icon illustrates his kavacha with the symbol
of the Surya Dev on it

Sisupala was born with 3 eyes and 4 arms.

It was prophesized that when a certain
person would carry him in his lap, his
deformities would disappear- but he would
be killed by that very person later. That
person turned out to be Lord Krishna, and
he promised to pardon Sisupalas 100
offenses, but on his 101st sin, Krishna killed
him as prophesized. This icon represents
the three eyes Sisupala was born with.

Bali was the king of the monkeys. When he

was born, he was blessed by Lord Indra
(the Wind God) that whenever he will
battle someone, half the strength of his
opponent will be transferred to him. The
icon of the flexing arm symbolises that
strength.
The Game of Dice was an important point
the Mahabharata. Yudhishthira the
righteous one and his brothers accepted
this gambling challenge against Shakuni, a
clever mastermind. Shakuni played this
game using his blessed dice which followed
all his commands, and as a result, the
brothers lost all of their posessions

In the epic of Ramayana, Lord Rama, a

prince, had gone on a fourteen-year exile
for the sake of his fathers honour. Rama
was joined in the exile into a forest
accompanied by his wife Sita and brother
Lakshman. The icon depicts the humble
place in the forest Rama, Sita, and Laksh-
man stayed in- until Sita was kidnapped by
the demon Ravana.

The Chakravyuh was a military battle

formation tactic that was used during the
battle in the epic Mahabharata. The young
prince Abhimanyu had recieved the
knowledge of getting into the Chakravyuh
while he was in his mothers womb, but he
wasnt able to listen about escaping it.
When Abhimanyu grew older and was
faced this battle formation, he could get
inside it, but was killed while getting out.

The newly-made illusionistic palace

resulted in Prince Duryodhana mistaking a
pool of water for a shiny floor, and falling
into it. In this very moment he was mocked
and humiliated by Draupadi, his
enemy-cousins wife, one of the turning
points that eventually evolved into
becoming the battle in Mahabharata.
Raktabij was a demon that had the boon to
duplicate a version of him from every drop
of blood that fell on the earth. He was
ultimately annihilated by goddess Kali who
stretched her tongue and licked drops of
his blood, putting all his clones in her
mouth. The icon symbolises Raktabijs drop
of blood.

Kamdhenu (also known as Surabhi) is the

miraculous, sacred bovine goddess-
creature, the granter of all wishes that her
owner desires. She was born from the
ocean of milk, and resides in heaven. This
icon of the cows face symbolises Kamd-
henu, even though often in scriptures she
is presented as a decorated cow with a face
of a human woman.

Rahu is a demon that swallows the

sun, causing solar eclipses. The time
of the day that is under the
influence of Rahu is
considered to be very inauspicious.
The icon illustrates an eclipse with
the sun swallowed by a dark
matter.

Sheshanaga is one of the primal

beings of creation. He is a
multiple-headed snake that is said
to hold all of the universe and
planets, while serving as a resting
bed for Lord Vishnu.
Narsimha is a mythical creature that
is also an incarnation of Lord
Vishnu. He is depicted as having a
torse and lower body of a human,
face of a lion, multiple claws, and
the Sheshanaga at his back.

Kaliya was an evil, poisonous serpent

that resided in the Yamuna River.
The water around him bubbled with
poison and no other living creature
could go near it. When attacked by
Lord Krishna, he begged for mercy
and was ordered to leave the river.

Sursa is a giant demoness that lives

in the Indian Ocean. She was a
hurdle in Hanumans way (Sitas
rescuer). To test his strength and
wisdom, she gulped him while
Hanuman was on his way to Lanka.
However, Hanuman escaped Sursa
by shrinking himself.

Ravana was a demon King that abducted

Sita. A devotee of Lord Shiva, he was a
very knowledgable scholar. He is always
depicted as having ten heads to symbolise
his wisdom and knowledge of the 10
ancient scriptures. He kidnaps Sita, the
wife of Ram as revenge of him cutting
Ravanas sister Shurpanakhas (demoness)
nose.
Drona was an incarnation of Brahma, a
royal teacher and master of advanced
military arts. He also had access to divine
weapons, such as the Divyastras (super-
natural weapons). The icon illustrates a
supernatural set of bow and arrow that
Drona might reward.

Once, during a battle between the gods

and demons, there was a churning in the
ocean of milk, which released 14
Ratnas (valuable gems/ treasures). These
treasures included things from objects
and weapons like the Kaustubha (the most
valuable gem in the world; the icon), to
creatures like Apsaras (nymphs) and the
wish-fullfilling cow Kamdhenu.

The Brahmastra was a lethal destructive

weapon created by Brahma whose effect
was the same as of a nuclear weapon.
When released, the Brahmastra not only
ends all life, but causes severe
environmental damage and leaves the land
barren and results in genetically defective
children for the next generations. It was
almost released during the Mahabharata,
but withdrawn.

The Sanjeevani is a magical herb which has

the power to cure any injury or malady,
such as reviving a dead person. During the
Ramayana, Lakshman was gravely injured.
So, in search of the Sanjeevani, Hanuman
lifted the entire Sanjeevani mountain on
his arm and brought it to the battlefield
because he was unable to identify the herb.
Balrama was the elder brother of
Krishna and an avatar of Shesha. His
weapon of choice is the Balachita,
which is a plough. He is known for
his strength, killing the demon
Dhenuka at a very early age.

The Sudarshana Chakra is a disc-like

weapon. It is carried by Lord Vishnu
and Krishna, his incarnation. It is
said that even after the Sudarshana
Chakra is released to kill the attack-
er, it returns back to its owner like a
boomerang.

The Nagapasha is released by an

arrow. When released, it works by
binding the enemy with snakes,
making it impossible to move.
During the Ramayana, Rama and
his brother Lakshman were bound
by the snakes, but released with the
help of Garuda the eagle.

Vajra is a thunderbolt weapon which

has irresistable force. It has ribs
attached to a ball-shaped sphere in
the centre. It is carried by Indra, the
god of sky. Emitting thunderbolts, it
was used to kill demons.
