1) Asmund Asmundson, the Priest of Middalhof, has two daughters ot the some time. From his wife, Gudruda, From Gro the witch, Swanhild the Fatherless. 2) Eric Brighteyes was born five yeors earlier, He grows up with both girls. 3) Eric ond Gudruda ore trapped in the snow and nearly die. They escape and pl edge themselves to each other. 4) Swonhild also loves Eric but realises through her mother thot trickery and mogic have to be enlisted. 5) Asmund thanks Eric for saving his daughter's life but will not give him her hand in marriage. Eric is then banished and told he cannot return until he has crossed the Golden Falls. 6) Ospakar Blacktooth learns that Gudruda would make a fine wife and he desires her. 7) Gudrude does not want Ospakar and says so. She is for Eric. 8) Eric crosses the Golden Falls and is acclaimed. 9) Eric fights with Ospakar over Gudruda and through Groo (and Swanhild’s) trickery
