TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is designed for ophthalmologists, optometrists, ophthalmology residents and allied
health professional.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The need for this conference was determined from examining the topics published in the recent
scientific literature. Participants in the course will be exposed to the most current concepts and
practical tips for clinical practice in the following areas of Cataract, Cornea, Glaucoma, Neuro-
Ophthalmology, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Retinal Disease.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
As a result of attending the conference, participants will:

Be better able to understand adult diplopia.


Be aware of causes of neuro-ophthalmic emergencies.
Recognize the causes of decreased vision after cataract surgery.
Be able to understand the latest techniques in cataract surgery.
Review the risks of vision loss in glaucoma.
List the proper selection of an IOL for a particular patient.
Recognize the abnormal optic nerve OCT in glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmic disease.
Learn the current ophthalmic prostheses available for blind patients.
Be better able to diagnose and manage diabetic retinopathy.
Be able to better manage oculoplastic conditions.

Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education
for physicians.

SUNY Downstate Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 12.75 AMA PRA

From New York and North:


Major interstate highways connect with the Garden State Parkway South to Exit 38

Take 1-95 to the Walt Whitman Bridge (Philadelphia). N/S Freeway to the Atlantic City
