ARREST- AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/BURGLARY

On April 10, 2017 at 11:23 PM, Hatfield Township police officers were dispatched
to the 2300 block of Farview Avenue in Hatfield Township, Montgomery County,
PA for a burglary in progress. While responding, officers were advised the residents
had been assaulted to include one of them being stabbed.

Upon arrival, Hatfield police officers located a male subject outside the residence
later identified as Jason William Beck. Jason Beck told officers he was surrendering
and that he was the guy they wanted. Hatfield Township police detectives responded
and through investigation determined Jason Beck was the estranged husband of one
of the residents. It was determined Jason Beck had broken into the home earlier in
the day when no one was home and hid in a master bedroom closet.

Detectives learned Jason Beck remained hiding in the closet until his estranged wife
and her boyfriend went to bed later in the evening. Once this occurred, Jason Beck
emerged from the closet and sprayed mace at the victims and beat one of the victims
with a baseball bat. This same victim was also stabbed during the assault. Jason
Beck additionally assaulted his estranged wife prior to fleeing the residence on foot.

The two adult victims were treated at Abington-Lansdale Hospital for their injuries.
There were three children in the residence at the time of this incident that were not
physically injured.

Detectives learned there was a Montgomery County Protection from Abuse Order in
place prohibiting Jason Beck from being at this residence or having contact with his
family at the time of this incident.

Jason Beck was taken into custody by Hatfield officers and charged with Aggravated
Assault, Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault,
Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Possessing Instruments of Crime and
related offenses.

Jason Beck was arraigned by on call Magisterial District Judge Maurice Saylor
who set bail at $500,000 cash. He was unable to post bail and was remanded to the
Montgomery County Correctional Facility. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for
April 26, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
