CAS Stages complete questions below:

1) Investigation - what are your goals for this CAS experience?
My main goal for this experience is to further my public speaking and
communication skills. Another goal that I want to accomplish is to learn how to
edit the news. Being a part of LIS News has taught me valuable techniques and
skills that will be essential in my future career path.

2) Preparation briefly identify your plan of action and include an approximate

timeline.
We usually record the news after school from 3:00-4:30 pm. During this time, the
head of secondary provides the weekly news script and I memorize the script
slightly. I then practice my introductions and transitions then we record the news.

3) Action - how will you accomplish your goals? Who will be involved?
I will accomplish my goals is to take constructive criticism from individuals on my
execution of the news and my overall presentation to sharpen my skills and let
them suggest different techniques to help. I will also learn how to edit the news
through the editor of all our videos Merrick Lehman. Dikembe Johnson, Maddie
Kennedy and Gabriel Lopez and Shimon Lopez will be involved.

4) Reflection - what were your expectations? What did you hope to gain from this
experience? What did you learn? What are your next steps? How are the Learner
Profile attributes incorporated?
The expectations I initially had for this experience was low, I thought that I
wouldnt learn anything on top of what I already knew. I hoped to gain new skills
and techniques from this experience. I ended up learning valuable skills like
memorizing and reading my script before recording is important to avoid
mistakes and maintaining eye contact with the camera is essential. The Learner
attribute of a thinker is incorporated because throughout this experience we
innovated ways to make the news better and more interesting. We came up with
new segments and jokes to give a lighter feeling. The communicator attribute is
mostly expressed through reporting the weekly news and organising episodes
with the crew. The attribute of a risk-taker is also shown because this was my first
time being recorded in this fashion and I know how much harder it is to make
mistakes while recording.

5) Demonstration what evidence will you use to show you have completed your
goals?
I will use video evidence of the LIS News episodes that are uploaded to
YouTube. I will also use picture evidence of myself on camera and in front of the
green screen reporting the news.
