PILE FOUNDTION
[Cast in Situ Board Pile]
Method Statement
cut off level will be done with the help of 4 nos. of detachable pipes 3 " dia which
are connected to the cage to the final level. These pipes are also useful in
observation of the cage during concreting (uplift of the cage). The side cover for
the reinforcement will be maintained by circular concrete cover blocks fixed to
helical of cage.
Testing of Bentonite:
a) Density: - The density is measured by Hydrometer. The slurry sample is
Taken in a 1000cc cylinder and the hydrometer is inserted into this
Suspension. The calibration shown on the hydrometer directly give the
Density in gm/ml.
2.6 Concreting:
Tremmie pipe of 250/200mm dia of length varying from 1.20m to2.0m are
joined together and lowered into the pile bore with Bottom clear by 300mm.
Concrete funnel 1.50 to 2.0 cum capacity is fitted on the top of the tremmie with
lid closed. The concrete with minimum slump of 150-180 poured in to funnel and
the lid is removed and concrete is allowed to flow in to the tremmie and to reach
the bottom of the pile. A min 500mm of built up is formed in the first pour. After 4
to 6 m of built up is confirmed , the tremmie is lifted by 2m however one piece of
tremmie always remains 1000mm inside the concrete. The concrete built up of
1.0m above the cut off level is confirmed as per sounding chain. The entire
concrete built up shall be recorded in the approved tremmie chart format.
