OBJECTIVES & MODIFICATIONS
MONDAY - MARCH 6, 2017
NAEYC Standard 2.J.02.a Infants and toddlers/twos are provided varied
opportunities to explore and manipulate age-appropriate art materials
Goals That students use fine motor skills to open clothespins, choosing tissue
paper to insert as wings to create butterflies. That they relate caterpillars to
butterflies, for without one we cannot have the other.
Accommodation Use pipe cleaners to wrap around tissue paper instead of
clothespins in case a child is unable to use that method.

TUES DAY MARCH 7, 2017


NAEYC Standard Children are provided many and varied open-ended
opportunities and materials to express themselves creatively through two- and three
dimensional art.
Goals Children will have an opportunity to feel the texture of feathers, creating
their own animal. The book helps them recognize there are many kinds of birds and
will help them create their own with glue, tissue paper, and feathers.
Accommodation None are needed for this project

WEDNES DAY MARC H 8, 2017


NAEYC Standard 2.J.03.a Infants and toddlers/twos have varied opportunities
to express themselves through freely moving to music
Goals This is an enrichment activity which not all children may participate,
however, the goal is to expose the children to different music which incorporates
counting, dancing, stories, and musical instruments.
Accommodation For those children who do not participate, we set up their own
music class where they explore instruments, dancing, finger play, etc.

THURS DAY MARCH 9, 2017


NAEYC Standard 2.A.09.a-b Materials and equipment used to implement the
curriculum for infants and toddlers/two encourage exploration, experimentation,
and discover/sensory and motor learning.
Goals This is an enrichment activity which not all children may participate,
however, the goal is to create a mind/body connection, assisting children develop
eye/hand coordination, fine and gross motor skills, etc.
Accommodation For those children who do not participate, we create guided
physical games, exercises, and more which may mimic what those children are
doing in the class with the same goals in mind.
FRIDAY MARCH 10, 2017
NAEYC Standard 2.K.02.a-e Children are provided varied opportunities and
materials to help them learn about nutrition, including identifying sources of food
and recognizing, preparing, eating, and valuing healthy food.
Goals To expose children to real food and its preparation
