http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/16/business/documents-show-general-motors-kept-
silent-on-fatal-crashes.html
This Article asserts G.M. ignored potential problems regarding safety issues specifically that
power failures or ignition problems led to air bags failing to deploy during crashes. The article is
written by New York Times journalists that have written numerous articles detailing automobile
safety and government regulations. I plan to use the source to provide examples about
automobile safety, manufacturing, and regulations. Therefore, I could recommend solutions to
solve these problems.

This article explores potential systems that would detect a person in the car seat so that the airbag
can deploy safely without causing harm to the passenger. This source is a scientific site and the
authors examined data to support their points. The authors provided feedback from their
experiments and explained them to solidify their point. This article will be evidence in my
recommendation report of what we should do about this issue.

This source adds information about how automobiles deploying their airbags arbitrarily and
causing injury to the driver and damaging the car even though the car was never in a wreck The
article is written by New York Times journalists that have written numerous articles detailing
automobile safety and government regulations. This is more evidence of airbag safety problems.
This will be another example for my recommendation report.

Popa, M. F. (2014). Injury caused by airbag VS. injuries associated with airbag deploys. ARS
Medica Tomitana, 20(1), 19-24. Retrieved February 5, 2017.
This article is states that airbags can save lives, but can also cause severe damage to a person
because they were manufactured wrong. The author is part of the Faculty of Medicine at his
University with knowledge about automobile injuries and makes recommendations for
prevention. The source is also recent. I will use this source as opposing evidence.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/27/business/takata-airbag-recall-crisis.html
This article describes how G.M. cuts corners to save money and particularly in airbag
manufacturing and installation. This is yet another New York Times article regarding the
automobile industry. This will be more evidence that there is a potential problem in the car
industry and that airbags need to be examined immediately.
