1. Define Policy

The basic principles by which a government is guided.

A policy is a deliberate system of principles to guide decisions and
achieve rational outcomes. A policy is a statement of intent, and is

2. Agency Policy

My own understanding of Agency policy, it is a set of statements


or guidance, adopted by the agency, that set out what is the agency
stands for and what are their goals.

3. Public Social Policy


Social policy is a term which is applied to various areas of policy,
usually within a governmental or political setting. It can refer to
guidelines, principles, legislation and activities that affect the living
conditions conducive to human welfare, such as a person's quality

Social Policy entails the study of the social relations necessary for
human
Wellbeing and the systems by which wellbeing may be promoted.

4. Policy Goals of MDG

8 Goals of the MDG are:


1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
2. Achieve universal primary education
3. Promote gender equality and empower women
4. Reduce child mortality
5. Improve maternal health
6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases
7. Ensure environmental sustainability
8. Develop a global partnership for development

5. Social welfare policies


A subset of social policies, in particular programs/regulations
designed to satisfy individual and familial needs inadequately
met through the market system.
Government programs designed to improve quality of life.
