I think what ties all of my course work together is the idea of Healthcare and what I
want to do within the healthcare field. I plan on attend graduate school for Healthcare
Services Administration and ultimately want to be administrator in a hospital setting. The
courses I selected with my health services administration minor have allowed me to gain
a vast knowledge of healthcare and how it works. From an economic standpoint, to a
financial view, and of course a management perspective. My medical sociology
(behavioral and social sciences area) has allowed me to understand in more depth the
culture behind healthcare from the outside looking in. I know a little about the society we
live in, the cultures that are amongst us and the psychological view of the world and how
to tie that back to healthcare in order to provide a great service all while understanding
what each individual is going through. I see my public affairs area as a chance to
understand healthcare from a legal aspect. Why regulations are in place, how to properly
implement said regulations and how to best explain a legal situation to someone who
may not be as knowledgeable. I choose to take majority of online classes because Im an
individual who is a self-starter, who also benefits from structure and accountability. I felt
like I have learn so much more from online courses simply because I had to want to learn
and want to put in the hours of study time, in order to grasps all the concepts being
thrown at me.
