To Whom It May Concern:

Hello, my name is Samantha Kinder and I am in my last semester at South

Dakota State University. My degree is in Early Childhood Education with a certification
from Dakota State in Elementary Education. I grew up in Aberdeen, SD where my
passion and desire to become a teacher truly started from the inspiration of my 3rd
grade teacher. She wasnt only focused on how well we did on a test, but rather was
more concerned that we were prepared for the real world as well. She showed true
compassion for young learners and helped to shape me into the woman I am today.

As I mentioned above, I am a senior at SDSU; therefore, I have had several

practicum classroom hours at various locations in Brookings. I was an assistant teacher
in the three and four year old classroom in the Fishback Center for Early Childhood on
the campus of SDSU, as well as a student teacher in the kindergarten classroom in the
Fishback Center as well. I have had experience in the Brookings community at Dakota
Prairie Elementary in kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd grade. I have had practicum hours in a
4th grade math classroom at Camelot Intermediate School in Brookings and am
currently completing my final student teaching in a 5th grade math classroom at
Camelot as well. I would gladly accept a teaching position in any grade from
kindergarten to 5th as I enjoy the whimsical nature and curiosity of kindergarten as well
as the independence and depth of content in the upper grades. When I graduate this
May, I will be looking for an elementary teaching position in eastern South Dakota.

I want to thank you for considering me as a teacher candidate for your school.
After all of my college courses and field experience, I couldnt be more excited than I
am right now to have a classroom of my own filled with minds ready to explore and
discover the world around them. I look forward to developing my teaching abilities in
your school and continuing my education to become the best possible teacher for my
future students. Again, thank you for the consideration and I look forward to furthering
my career with your assistance and guidance.
