Ourpresentationthiseveningwillfocusonoptionsforwork,inthecommunityandtraining
opportunities,aswellascommunitycollege.Wewillhavefourpresentersfromthefieldwhowill
sharetheirexpertisewithyouanddiscussdifferentoptionsavailable.Thesepresenterswillinclude:

- MaryVanPelt:Ms.VanPeltistheemploymentservicesdirectoratSt.Colettas.Shewill
discussvariousemploymentoptionsprovidedatSt.Colettasincluding:communityplacement
program,supportedemploymentprogram,culinaryartsprogram,andjanitorialservices
program.

- MikeParvis:Mr.ParvisistheprogramadvisorfortheSTEPprogramsthroughouttheChicago
suburbs.HehasbeenanemployeeofDHS/DRSforthelast27years.Hewillexplainhowadult
servicesworkwhenthestudentsexitschoolservices.

- AdamWouk:Mr.WoukworksatMoraineValleyCommunityCollege(MVCC)intheOfficeof
DisabilityServices.Hewilltalkabouthowstudentsneedtoknowtheirdisability,abilities,
whatworksforthem,andhowtoadvocatefortheiruniquelearningneeds.

- LindaBathgate:Ms.BathgateworksasacounseloratSouthSuburbanCollegeinSouth
Holland.Ms.BathgateservesontheboardofdirectorsoftheHealthandDisabilityAdvocates
organizationinChicago.Shehasservedasthepresidentandsecretaryoftheboard.Sheisalso
amemberofAHEAD,whichistheAssociationofHigherEducationandDisabilityandwas
chosenasapresenterattheInternationalAssociationofHigherEducationandDisabilityin
Innsbruck,AustriainJuly,2010.
