myself and one to the child. I will show the child where to start and finish.

demonstrate how to roll a dice. Letting the child know we want to keep the
dice in our area.

needed.

the end.

Child-guided Procedures:

dice.
3. Then the child will move the palm tree marker along the path, counting
how many dots to move towards the pool.
4. Then the child will continue taking turns with me, each time counting the
dice and moving towards the pool.
5. Finally the child will the child will reach the pool and then we will talk about
how many time we rolled to get there.

Conversation to Support Learning/Talking with Children:

1. Tell me why you are moving the palm tree one time, when you roll a
one on the dice?
2. How many dots do you think there is from start to finish?
3. How many times do you think it takes to roll to get to the end?
4. Why do you think the activity was easy? Why do you think the activity
was hard?
5. Who else do you think you could play this game with at home? Why?

Observations and Assessment: I will know the child can do something my

observing the child and seeing how the child responds to playing the game and
to my questions. What I think I will hear the child say or do tomorrow is;
I will hear the child count the number of spaces they move on the path.
I will see the child roll the dice.
I will hear the child count the dots on the dice.
I will see the child place their fingers on the path to count.

Accommodations for individuals:

Scaffolding down: Use the short path game, Point to the dots and count
for them, Place the dice in a container to roll.

Scaffolding up: Use two dice at once letting the child add them together
then move there marker, Add a longer path to the game.
