S.no Comment from Client

1.a
CT ratio for 1 MVA transformer shall be changed to 100/1 A and
accordingly settings shall be proposed

1.b
SBEF protection setting study shall be included.

1.c Time setting multiplier shall be revised as the proposed TMS is very
high, which will take long time to clear the fault.

1.d Relay Summary: All the available function, relay input mask, output
mask, etc. shall be indicated.

Grading Curve:
1. I2t damage curve for all equipment shall be indicated.
1.e 2. Grading curve shall be verified for both minimum and maximum
fault condition and also, grading time shall be indicated in the
grading curve.

Sequence of Operation
1.f 1. Breaker operating time shall be confirmed with supporting
document.
2. Sequence of operation shall be verified for all type of faults.

1.g Short circuit Analysis: Positive, Negative and Zero sequence

impedance shall be indicated. Also, SC calculation shall be
submitted for both ETAP and manual calculation.

1.h SLD: Normal open point (NOP) and accordingly protection study
shall be considered, for all possible operating conditions.

1.i Data: Transformer impedance shall be considered in line with actual

data.

1.j The entire relay setting calculation soft copy (Native files) and hard
copy shall be submitted. All ETAP model shall be submitted to AADC
in order to integrate with existing model.

1.k Operating time and grading time shall be submitted for both
minimum and maximum fault.
Effect of emerging transients in the aftermath of fault clearance
1.l causing inductive motors to draw high current in excess of relay
setting shall be considered.
The I2t/damage curve of the equipment shall be taken into
1.m consideration. The adequacy of cable, transformer, switchgear to
protect to be justified.

1.n LV side fuse/MCCB /MCB shall be coordinated with O/C & E/F
protection.
Independent setting calculation/ summary table shall be submitted
1.o for each relay /feeder and substation. Typical settings/calculation
will not be entertained.

2.a All supporting document such as transformer, CT, relays, line

length, etc. shall be submitted.

2.b The entire relay setting calculation soft copy (Native files) including
manual calculation and hard copy shall be submitted.

2.c
Relay settings summary sheet shall be submitted.

2.d
Thermal OL shall be activated as alarm only.

KVA'S Response Status

CT ratios are considered based on inputs provided. CT

ratio change causes settting change, and requires
regeneneration of respective TCCs and Sequence of
operations reports. This rework will have a commercial
impact (10 hrs)
FreCo to provide more details on the Standby earth fault
relay used. Our understanding is that only an Earth Fault
Indicator (EFI) is used
Comment Unclear. Proposed Time dial settings are 0.5-0.6
seconds at inverse stage, and 90milli seonds at
instantaneous region. FreCo to advise.

Report updated, list of settings can be found in section-14.

1. I2t Damage curve is already shown for all equipment

(transformers and cables)
2. Grading time is already shown on the TCC. Maximum
Fault arrows will be added on the TCCs.

1. Standard breaker operating times are considered as

details are not available.
2. Verified and ETAP report included in Annexure-3

Sample manual Calculations and ETAP calculations are

submitted

Report updated, operating scenarios considered are in

section 8 of the report.
Transformer impedance from FAT reports are already
considered in the study

All soft copies, native files aleady submitted. Will be done

again for revised study
These can be found in Annexure-3, Sequence of operation
reports

To be discussed.

Damage curves of all cables, transformers already

considered and shown in the TCCs
LV Side fuses, MCCB, MCB are included in the study. But in
general, the outgoing feeders are small and co-ordinate
with the LV MDB incomers

Separate tables are already prepared for each protection

relay. You can find them in section-14

All input data already in dropbox project folder and link is

shared with FreCo during first submission.

All soft copies, native files aleady submitted. Will be done

again for revised study
Separate tables are already prepared for each protection
relay. You can find them in section-14
Noted. The settings shall include it. However, this needs to
be taken care during configuration of the relay at factory
or during commissioning
