Fergana

The city of Fergana is one of the youngest cities in


Uzbekistan. In Fergana, there is no ancient
architecture or historical monuments, but
nevertheless, the city is unique and picturesque in
its own way. It is more modern and luxurious, like
Tashkent, and is the place to visit if you are a fan of quality hotels and shopping.

Kokand

Kokand city, located on the Silk Road, is one of the most ancient cities in Uzbekistan. The town was
an important trade center on the Silk Road and its first written records date back to the 10th century.

This is the place to visit in Uzbekistan if you are a fan of historical monuments and ancient
architecture

Termez

Termez city is located on the bank of the Amu Darya River and is, again, one of the most ancient
cities in Central Asia. This city was subject to war in the early 1200s so you can see many forts,
ancient battlegrounds, etc. . Termez is also famous for its friendship bridge, the border bridge used
to cross from Uzbekistan into Afghanistan.

Bukara

Bukhara is a popular destination for tourists because it has so much to offer. The two best things to
do there is visit beautiful and historical mosques and shop in colorful and busy bazaars.

Chimgan

Chimgan valley is the most popular ski resort in Uzbekistan. It is famous for its 3309m mountain, a
definite summer and winter getaway. So if your hobby is skiing, hiking, etc., this is a perfect vacation
spot.

Nukus

Nukus city is the famous gateway into the fast-disappearing Aral Sea and home to the remarkable
Savitsky Museum-one of the best collections of Soviet arts in the world. If youre into ancient art,
this is the place to visit.

Tashkent

The capital city of Uzbekistan, Tashkent is known for its museums and the pefect balance of modern
and soviet architecture. The State Museum of Arts in particular displays soviet era paintings
alongside embroidered silk hangings. Dont miss the statue of a tearful woman that honors the
hundreds of thousands of Uzbek soldiers killed in World War II.

Samarkand

Located on the Silk Road, Samarkhand is known for its mosques an mausoleums. Visit the Shah-i-
Zinda Street to witness lavishly decorated mausoleums and the 15th century Bibi Khanym mosque
that was completely rebuilt since 1970s. . The Ulugh Beg Observatory and museum sheds light on
the scientific achievements of the citys 15th-century astronomers

Khiva

Khiva is a city of approximately 50,000 people located in Xorazm Region, Uzbekistan. According to
archaeological data, the city was established in the beginning of the Christian era. It is the former
capital of Khwarezmia and the Khanate of Khiva. Itchan Kala in Khiva was the first site in
Uzbekistan to be inscribed in the World Heritage List.
