I am a 10th grade student at the School of Science, Connections and Technology in San Diego.
We are a U.S. News & World Report Silver Medalist school located in Kearny Mesa. I am
participating in a project called Water Pollution. Ours is an interdisciplinary project in which we
explore the connections between environmental issues and personal choices. We are
developing a project website, trifold and interactives that we will use in a street fair to inform our
community about the dangers of Water Pollution and ultimately motivate them to abolish it
forever.

I am writing to request further information on the warnings and dangers on Water Pollution as
part of my community outreach presentation. I am especially interested in learning more about
the purification process in the United States and San Diego County in particular. I would also
like to know what is currently being done to help Water Pollution at this time. As I have
researched this topic, I have become increasingly alarmed at how much polluted water there is
in the world.

I would appreciate any insights or information you could share with me. If there are other
organizations you think I should contact, I would welcome that information as well. Thank you
