FAQ. UPLOAD VIDEO

Till when can I upload my shorts to compete?

From the publication of these Rules and until June 9, 2017 at 12:00 pm. (spanish time)

I have filled in details but not let me upload the video

Check well if you've filled in all the data and you have accepted our policy of personal data
collected in "Legal Notices" and "Registration, Participation, Voting".

Who can compete?

Any person, natural or legal, of any nationality, with the age of majority. For this you have to
be registered on the web.

What requirements have to meet short films?

Be no more than 25 minutes in length, but may have lower duration. In the event that you
present to the Mobile Film Maker award your short film shall not exceed 15 minutes.

The production date must be later than January 1, 2015

They must come from an original short film shot in high-definition video (1080).

To upload it to the website of the surface in www.festivalcineelx.es, must be converted to the

web in the majority of compressed video formats: avi, mp4, mov and mkv and with a size that
does not exceed 500 MB.

 How it can compete?

Being registered on the website and sending at least one short to the official platform of the
FICIE in www.festivalcineelx.es or in its associated online platforms: Click for Festivals,
Mobibeta, Filmfreeway, Film Salad and Festhome.


I have an account on YouTube and on Vimeo. How can I embed my videos on FICIE's
official website?

The procedure will be as follows:

a) Embed from Vimeo

The official application of FICIE is able to embed from files from Vimeo, as shown in the
attached image. They only have to enter in the field "Video ID" the numbers that go behind the
url of the video that will begin with "http: //.vimeo.com.

In the example https://vimeo.com/209266360 the ID of the video to write down would be

209266360.

b) Embed from Youtube

The procedure would be very similar to the previous one.

The ID of a video on Youtube is the combination of numbers and letters that come after "v ="
in the Youtube link in the browser bar.

Http: //www.youtube.com/watch?v= (here would be the ID)

For example: from this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXvucVWwm28

RXvucVWwm28 would be the ID.

How will know that you have received my video successfully in the official platform of
the FICIE?

After filling all the data tab of the film in the section "Send Video Contest" and having accepted
the Bases and the legal terms, click the "Upload Video" button.

If everything is as you will receive a notice of success on screen. Any doubt or incidence,
contact the Organization through festivalelche@cajamediterraneo.es email addresses

Think I'm wrong video. How can remove it in the official plafatorma of the surface?

You can not do so directly. Contact the Organization through

festivalelche@cajamediterraneo.es


I just upload the video but don't see it on the official website of FICIE

The Organization does not go up the video immediately. The checks are carried out to see if it
meets bases. We're within maximum 24 hours so that it appears on the web.

My video does not play on the official website of FICIE

The website is set to html5 to ensure viewing from any pc/mac, and mobile device so it is
possible that you have a problem in the browser. There are several solutions:

Windows 7, Windows 8 (8.1) or Windows 10: in the case of using Internet Explorer, we
recommend version 11 or, in the case of Windows 10, the browser that comes by default:
Microsoft Edge.

Windows XP/Windows Vista users: From April 2014 Microsoft has abandoned this operating
system with what most browsers will not be able to use effectively. However you can try with
the browsers they are cited below.

In Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 the following browsers can be used:

The system is already tested on these browsers and works normally.

But am a user of Mac (or Linux)

In the most popular distributions like to give a couple of examples Ubuntu

(https://www.ubuntu.com) and Linux Mint (https://www.linuxmint.com) described most
browsers you can use up without problems.

On Mac OS X: we recommend to upgrade to at least version the captain 10.11
(https://support.apple.com/es-mx/HT206886) or desirable the latest version of your operating
system MacOS Sierra 10,12 (http://www.apple.com/la/macos/sierra/) that will always have
updated the latest version of Quicktime (https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1897?locale=es_ES)

Here the official website of the surface is also functional in browsers described above and in
the operating system's own: Safari (https://support.apple.com/es-es/HT204416)

Do I need much bandwidth to be able to see the shorts and/or compete uploading the
videos?

Having a bandwidth of 3 megs down / 500 k upload, would be sufficient.

When you want to view or upload videos, we advise you to dedicate bandwidth exclusively to
prevent slowdowns.

 Are many fields to fill in

The Selection and Qualification Jury is demanding. The more data you have, the better you can
cast your verdict.

Would help the public which has the selection by topic?

Visitors to the website can order the short according to "theme packs" and so we can have a
better user experience.

How many short can I send?

There is no limit to the number of short films that can compete.

Who valued my short?

Selection Jury will be evaluating all the short films that have been submitted to Jury selection
will be evaluating all the short films that have been submitted until June 9, 2017 at 12:00
(spanish time)

And, of course, everyone entering the Festival website www.festivalcineelx es and who vote
for the Online Award.

But don't want my short Internet users see

This edition of FICIE has two modes of participation:

a) In Open Mode: the Author/Producer/Distributor decides to make the short look open
for all those who visit this Web site.

b) In Restricted to the Jury Mode: the Author/Producer/Distributor decides that his short
only the members of the jury will see it.

 But I have presented my short through the associated platforms, how to know the
organization I want to introduce myself in private mode?

The Organization has provided associated platforms the bases of this edition of FICIe in which
dealt with these two forms of participation. On these platforms will notify the author so you
confirm if you want to present on open or private.

And where that choice can be decided?

Once you are registered, in the section "Send Video", at the end of the screen is the option of
choice of the mode of participation.

You have forgotten me check one of these options, can I participate?

No such choice is mandatory. The system leaves no advance if you not choose one of the two
modalities.

Why do have to be converted to another video format my short film?

To accommodate viewing via streaming on this website although it plays most popular audio
and video formats.

I am a bit new, how can I convert my short?

There are many programs that perform the conversion between different formats and many of
them are free.

The FICIE maintains a high standard in their productions. We recommend the use of
professional software that directly export to this format. On Mac OSX there is Final Cut. Here is
a first approximation to this program.

There are also other programs that allow you to convert between various formats with high
quality results.

In Mac and Windows would have the Mpeg Streamclip and also with XMedia Recode

The Organization recommends the free software HandkBrake (https://handbrake.fr) that is

compatible on all operating systems above mentioned.

Do not lose quality my short film to be in compressed format?

No. The format that we propose establishes the perfect relationship between quality and
viewing online is adequate to allow any user to view short films with quality.

Check the Rules and the "Registration, Participation, Voting" section of the website.

How do I know if I am in the official section?

From June 30, 2017 jury selection will provide to the Organization the list of short films
selected for competition in the official selection and will proceed to contact them via email,
that you have provided in your contact details.

My video will be screened in the Official Selection?

If the Selection Jury thus considers it to be selected as a finalist. We will contact you and we
will explain the steps to follow.

What short films will be projected in the MOSTRAT section

It is a non-competitive section where there will be those works from students of centres,
educational and University of the province of Alicante and Valencia which, in the opinion of
the jury of selection, have been known for being a good sample of the quarry's talents, paying
attention to those works in language of Valencia and from schools , true seed of future
filmmakers.

 I received many votes. How do I know if I've won the Online Award?

The Online Award out of the accounting of the votes since the publication of these rules and
up to 23:59:59 (spanish time) 20 July 2017.

At the Closing Ceremony, July 21, 2017, the Qualification Jury will make public the winner of
this and other Official Categories of the Winners of this edition of the Festival.

Do not remember if I sent my video

Your registered user profile are recorded and annotated videos that you've been able to send.

Who decides the awards of the Winners of the 40 Edition?

The Qualifying Jury will assess the best among the finalists selected by the jury of selection.

Users registered on the website official of FICIE, with their votes, it will be to you choose the
Online Award.

The votes cast by the audience at the official section in the Hort de Xocolater Park
projections shall decide the Hort del Xocolater Audience Award.

Do in which formats will be videos during the screening sessions?

In the original high-definition video formats provided by Author/Producer/Distributor. The

Organization undertakes to provide the public with the best possible experience and originals
in high definition are always ask.

Till when can visitors vote my short film?

From the moment in which you upload the video until a day before the Closing Ceremony, i.e.,
to 23:59:59 p.m (spanish time) of July 20, 2017

 When held screenings of the Official Section?

The Opening and Closing and the projections of the Official Section will be from 14 to July 20,
2017, on the official headquarters of the projection of this Festival in the Hort de Xocolater
Park in Elche and the Arenales del Sol Beach (Elche).

Closing Ceremony will be held in the Hort de Xocolater Park (Elche) July 21, 2017.

What is the schedule of screenings?

It will be established as we have selected short films. For more information, read the blog of
the surface from the 7 July 2017.

How can I present to Mobile Film Maker Award?

To attend the Mobile Film Maker Award avenues of participation are the same as for any
short, with the particularity that the synopsis field, first indicate the employee smartphone
model and post-production software used. The short duration may not exceed 15 minutes.

Can I submit to the Mobile Film Maker if my short film is greater than 15 minutes?

No. The maximum length allowed in this edition is up to 15 minutes.
