SAFETY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Members Present:

1. Committee met and went over the Site Safety Plan and Committee
Concerns. The following was discussed:
2. Site Safety Plan- Components of the site safety plan were discussed.
o Mr. Guerrero walked the committee through each section of the
safety plan.

o Ms. Gillum questioned if a natural disaster were to happen would
the site require parents to sign out students similar to Auburn.
Mr. Guerrero stated that students would remain with their
teachers until it was determined that reunification was safe.
Students in K-1 would follow normal protocol while other teachers
would not release students to parents until told to do so by
management.
o Mr. Guerrero asked if the Committee approved of the safety plan
and all members present approved it.
3. Mr. Guerrero stated that there were no on campus accidents to review.
4. Committee Concerns:
o Ms. Warthan asked if anything could be done about the mud that
accumulates beneath the sitting benches on yard two. Mr.
Guerrero suggested that she and the second grade team
brainstorm a project idea for LoveModesto.
o Ms. Garcia had a fire hazard concern with the new windows that
were installed in the 20s wing. She stated that the windows do
not open and if there were a fire, students would have to go out
the door only. Mr. Guerrero stated that he would look into the
potential hazard.
