Nurse Residency Program: Critical Care Rotation

Dear Hiring Manager,

My name is Victoria Clayton, and I am set to graduate with my Bachelors of Science in

Nursing on May 5, 2017 from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. I am writing to
express my interest in your nursing residency program posted on the careers website and
advertised by your nursing recruiters. I am certain that this organization will provide
numerous and valuable opportunities for growth and development as I begin my nursing
career. Working for a Magnet recognized hospital and being a part of a hospital with a
mentorship driven residency program is of utmost importance to me.

I have recently completed my final semester preceptorship in the progressive care unit at
Florida Hospital Tampa. Serving as a step-down ICU, my experience in PCU has challenged
me and helped me grow in my critical thinking, timeliness, teamwork, and leadership.
Through this experience, I have had the valuable opportunity to be involved in rapid
responses and codes. I have taken care of a wide variety of patients ranging from respiratory
distress, congestive heart failure, sepsis and multisystem organ failure patients. This has
deepened my passion for critical care as I have had to make quick clinical judgments, care
compassionately for my patients, and communicate effectively with family members. I feel
confident that this organization would be the best organization to equip me to become an
accomplished, confident and skillful critical care nurse. I am passionate, motivated and
committed to joining in on the mission of your organization.

I would greatly appreciate an opportunity to further expand on my skills and strengths and
how I can best serve this hospital. I can be reached via phone call or email at your
convenience. I have also attached my resume for your review. Thank you very much for your
time and your consideration. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Sincerely,

Victoria Clayton
