Definitions:
(W/L/H) stands for Width, Length, Height in their respective order.
Width Shortest distance of the dimension
Length Longest distance of the dimension
Height The distance perpendicular to the Width and Length
Any measurements that are denoted in (-) are not required for that specific dimension.

Condition Preferences is the Designers preference of obtaining the material and it is not
compulsory to follow.

4.0 Construction Method

Table 1: Creating Top and Bottom Body Frame + Sponge Filling Layer:

Instructions Images

1. Both plywood for top and bottom body

frame must be in a cuboid shape of
around measurements (130/300/10)
The sponge must be in a cuboid shape
with a measurement of around
(130/300/30) *Refer to Table 1 and
Drawings A02, A03, A04*

2. Use a ruler to measure out the raw

plywood and cut the plywood with a
saw in accordance to the
measurements listed above for the top
and bottom body frame. Cut the
Sponge using X-Acto Knife. *Refer to
Drawing A01, A1, A2 and E. And Drawing
A03.*

13
Nebula Explorations

1. For the top body frame and sponge.

Make a rectangular hole in the center
of the top plywood *Refer to Drawing
A01, E* of the plywood to fit in the
bottle into that space. *Refer to Drawing
A04 and A03*

2. The distance of the rectangular

hole from the shortest side of the
edge of the top body frame must
be approx. 21.3mm and from the
longest side must be approx.
25.6mm. *Refer to Drawing A04*. The
depth of the rectangular hole (The
height of the Top-body frame +
Sponge layer) should be approx.
35mm. *Refer to Drawing A03*

3. Use saw to cut the plywood and

make the rectangular hole, then
use X-Acto knife to cut the sponge
25mm deep. *Refer to Drawing A03*

14

Table 2: Creating the Axle Frame and Wheels

Instructions Images

1. Use a piece of cardboard and cut it

using X-Acto knife in the dimension of
(130/300/-) *Refer to table 1 and Drawing
A03 and A02*

1. Use a Mr. Potato Cylindrical Chips

Can and shorten its length from the
opening Top to make the final length
70mm. Use ruler and X-Acto knife to
cut the canister.

2. Cut out a rectangular piece of sponge

with an approximate dimension of
(70/140/-)

3. Use the rectangular sponge and roll it

onto the Cylindrical Can wheel,
bonding it with hot glue to create a
Wheel embedded with sponge *Refer
to Drawing A01, B1, B2 and Drawing A03*

4. Repeat these steps for four other

wheels

15
Nebula Explorations

1. Use skewers and pinpoint the midpoint

of the bottom of the cylindrical can and
create a hole by applying force on the
skewer with a hammer to the bottom of
the can. You should have one end of
the skewer with the Cylindrical can
attached to it and the other end of the
skewer will be empty for now.

2. Use the empty end of the skewer and

place it in between of the gap of the
cardboard. Repeat Step 2 and 3 for
the empty ends of the skewer to create
a full set of wheels.

3. The final product should be a

cardboard frame with Cylindrical can
Wheels

16

Table 3: Assembling the built components.

Instructions Images
1. Starting from the Bottom Body Frame,
add the cardboard with wheels, add
the Sponge Filling layer and add the
Top Body Frame. In each of these
steps, bond all components thoroughly
with hot glue. *The final product should
look similar to drawing A01*.

1. Attach the webbing buckle with a strap.

2. On each end of the straps, carefully

place it on top of the Top Body Frame
and use hot glue to attach it. There
should be Two buckle straps attached
on top of the Top Body Frame. *Refer to
Drawing A01, D1,D2 and Drawing A04*

3. Congratulations! All work completed.

1.0 Overview
The following document specifies the set of abilities which the client is
mandated to have in order to proceed with the project. If the client is not
capable of said abilities his tender will not be considered for the building of
the Rover

2.0 Criteria
The following are the criteria which the contractors will be assessed upon
Punctuality
Commitment
Communication
Intellect
Self-Discipline
Each criteria will be rated on a scale from 1 to 5, 5 being the highest
score attainable

2.1 Punctuality
The contractor must contact the designers promptly, attend all the
meetings on time, and should never be late to the construction site, as it
risks jeopardizing the entire project. The punctuality of the each
individual contractor will be based on their minutes of meeting, as well
as consultation with his colleagues

2.2 Commitment
The contractors must be willing to do the work that is assigned to him,
and consistently finish his work. The WPRs will be examined to judge
how committed the client is to his work

2.4 Intellect
The Designers preference of Intellect is understanding the technical aspect
of the Design Package. Intellect will be measured through varieties of
method; ITP Personality Test, Contractor and Designer Meetings (The
analysis of intellect will be conducted using a holistic approach where the
Designers will judge through a series of questions and communications
during meetings. Minutes of Meetings will be required as proof.) and grades
of any three subjects within year 10-12, most preferably scientific and
mathematics subjects.

Mark Given:

2.5 Self-Discipline
Self Discipline will be judged based on the ability of the Contractors time of
response of messages,e-mails and meetings. (History of communication
sent back and fro will be logged and used as evidence). ITP Personality +
