Heat Stress is caused by :
High temperature and humidity Direct sun or heat Limited air movement Physical Exertion Poor Physical Condition Some Medicines Inadequate tolerance for hot workplaces

Flag Color (based on heat index) 2. Water consumption (based on flag color) 3. Work rest cycle (based on self evaluation flags to be used as guidance) 4. Three hour lunch break during peak of summer (July & August) 5. Seventeen (17) specific mitigation measures
Everyone at site will
receive the matrix/ heat index card but self evaluation will be key to successful heat stress prevention

Thirst Offer cool water.
Advise to drink often and before he is thirsty
Cramping (legs or abdomen) Advise to take rest, move to a cool shaded
area or air-conditioned area, Encourage to drink. Call the SOC.
Excessive perspiration Have him rest in a cool, shaded area or
air-conditioned area, loosened clothing, offer him cool water, encourage to drink
Headache, Offer cool water Encourage to drink plenty
