Research Proposal

The topic that I am going to be researching about is divorce. Not just, divorce for the

parents and how divorce affects the children(s). Is it better for parents to wait to divorce when

their children are younger or is it better for the child that their parents get divorced when they are

older. The argument that I will side with is that it will be better for parents to divorce when the

children are at an older age. I want to do this topic because I have a group of friends including

myself that all of our parents are divorced, but we all were different ages when they split. So I

want to research how being young vs old and having your parents getting divorced will affect the

childrens life. This topic is interesting because of the rapid increase of divorce in America in the

past few years. Seeing how it can affect kids at different ages and why. The compared tendencies

to act up in class or at home when parents divorce vs married
