Morocco

This is the flag of one of countries of origin,

Morocco. The red on the Moroccan symbolizes hardiness,

bravery, strength and valour. The green represents love

and joy. Morocco gained independence on March 2, 1956

but they celebrate it on November 18th. The national anthem of Morocco is called the Anthem

Chrifien and was adopted as the anthem of the Kingdom of Morocco even before the country

gained independence in 1956. The music of the Moroccan national anthem was composed by

Lo Morgan, and it was written in Arabic by Ali Squalli Houssaini in 1970. If I wanted to

become a citizen of Morocco, I could do so by a process called naturalization. Naturalization in

Morocco is residing in the country for five years and being of age. Morocco doesnt look like a

place I would want to live though but I could possibly want to visit. For U.S. citizens and British

citizens, passports are required for entry into Morocco, but a visa is not required for stays up to

three months. In Morocco, the king appoints the president, head of the government, who serves

like a prime minister and other members of the government. The current head of the government

is Prime Minister Abdelillah Benkirane and hes been serving since November 29, 2011.

Mohammed VI of Morocco is currently the king of Morocco and has been since 1999. He took

office when his dad died in 1999. He has a net worth of 2.5 billion. In Morocco, the Feast of the
Throne is a day held in honor of the king's ascension to the throne. It is currently held on 30 July

and honors the current king of Morocco, His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The day is one of

much rejoicing and festivity.

Morocco borders Algeria to the east and southeast, Western Sahara to the south, the

Atlantic Ocean to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the north. It is the only African country

with coastal exposure to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Morocco is home to

mostly Arabs. Most of the people in the country is muslim. Although the country is rapidly

modernizing and enjoys a rising standard of living, it retains much of its ancient architecture and

even more of its traditional customs. Moroccos largest city and major Atlantic Ocean port is

Casablanca, an industrial and commercial centre. The capital, Rabat, lies a short distance to the

north on the Atlantic coast. Morocco is place that has beaches and deserts. It is still very rural but

you can see some sign of modernization. One day I hope I can take a trip there and see whats

its like for myself.
