Overview of Unit
*Detailed description of the unit including skills, concepts, and appropriate activities to support the goals and
objectives of the unit.
- In this invasion games unit the terms invasion games is used for any game where the aim is to
attack an opponent's territory and score a goal or point. This usually consists of teams and
these fast paced games focus on teamwork, keeping possession, scoring and defending.
- Skills and Concepts include: throwing, catching, change of direction, speed & agility, spatial
awareness, anticipation, footwork.
- This unit is used to provide a greater understanding on how to work as a team and use the skills
and concepts learned in past PE classes and apply them to these activities.

- Summative (final test): I would give students a written exam based on what they learned from
invasion games or the concepts associated with it.
Suggested Modifications:
- Make larger targets.
- Use larger balls
- Slow down gameplay
- Larger playing area
