ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We would like to begin with acknowledging our Associate Professor Ms. Kavita
Singh who arranged this visit and worked hard to see that all things all in line with
the motive of the course. She is very generous lady with all the flexibility in the
schedule of taking classes as well all other things like date of submission of report
etc. She is been a source of inspiration for us and we wish her guidance in the
future as well.
We would also like to thank the director of the university and the administration
who have given us all the requisite facilities like library, wi-fi connection,
computer lab, photo stat which make the task much easier and efficient.
Also, we would like to extend our gratefulness to our batch mates who made this
visit an interesting adventure, and last but not least, we would like to thank Sushil
Bhaiya for driving us to Lok Adalat and taking us back safely.

Particulars
It was an amazing experience of having an interactive session of one hour with the Judge. The
Judge talked with us on variety of subjects which included the importance of Lok Adalats, the
approach of parties in the Lok Adalat, role of subordinate courts in the Indian Judicial system,
and the importance of giving true picture of subordinate courts and Lok Adalats to law students
in their curriculum.
Cases

Sections: It was a case which involved sections 294, 323 and 506 of Indian Penal Code.
Facts: Fight occurred between the victim and the accused. Accused beat the victim and
gave abuses and used obscene words.
Outcome: Victim compromised with the accused on having some compensation and
promised that he would not again file the complaint against the accused.

Suggestions
The Lok Adalat must collaborate with the Law Universities and other such
instituions for promotion of Lok Adalat and they may also take the
assistance of law students whenever the nature if work require so.
